The RV saga continues with the election cycle. The president is now elected in office, however the president of the Kurdistan region did not agree this was the Kurd’s candidate. What will come with this issue? Next step: decide on a new nominee to replace Nori al-Maliki nomination. Will al-Sudani get it? They have 15 days to declare their nominee to parliament and then take a vote. So far 9 candidates that will probably get narrowed down to just a few at the end.

STATUS OF THE RV
Gruss Gott everyone! The news from Iraq and the Middle East is overwhelming. There is so much going on and it changes daily. I will try to give you a very current update or at least current when I wrote this Newsletter.
Let’s first talk about the election cycle. So Iraq claims they ended the over four-month deadlock for the elections and in parliament on Saturday elected the new president. His name is Nizar Mohammed Saeed Amidi. His presidency comes at a price as I will explain. Perhaps the deadlock is not yet over….. We must ask ourselves did they rig the election?
In the article titled “THE PRIME MINISTER CONGRATULATES NIZAR AMIDI ON HIS ELECTION AS PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC” Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani congratulated Nizar Amidi on Saturday on his election as President of the Republic.
He said “This important step strengthens the ongoing democratic process in our beloved country and completes the constitutional path, as well as embodying the great respect for the will of our people, which they expressed through their distinguished participation in the recent parliamentary elections.” – He added, “With the completion of this national milestone, we now await the crucial step of forming a strong coalition government.
Who is Nizar Amidi?
He is an Iraqi engineer politician who was just elected as president of Iraq in April 2026. A member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), he previously served as the Minister of Environment in the government of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani from 2022 to 2024. He graduated from the University of Mosul in 1993 with an engineering degree before working as a physics teacher. He has also more than 20 years of experience in governmental and political work and has undertaken executive and advisory roles in Iraqi state institutions. Amidi served as the chief of staff to four previous presidents of Iraq, whose presidencies spanned from 2008 to 2022. He led the Political Bureau of the PUK in Baghdad from 2024.
😊 Let’s first take a peek at the article titled “PRESIDENT MASOUD BARZANI: WE REFUSE TO ELECT A PRESIDENT BEFORE AGREEING ON A PRIME MINISTER.” In it we read that president Masoud Barzani of Kurdistan affirmed before the vote in parliament for the president, that he would take a firm stance regarding the developments in the political process in Iraq, rejecting attempts by some parties within the “Coordination Framework” to proceed with the election of the President of the Republic without resolving the issue of the Prime Minister candidate. Do you know how powerful this state of Barzani really is? It tells us and confirms once again what my contact in the CBI has been telling us all along that the election hold up is not really about the president of Kurdistan but about who would be the nominee for prime minister.
I quote from the article – “President Barzani stressed the need to resolve the two issues “simultaneously” as a basic condition for proceeding with any constitutional entitlement, stressing that this path is the only guarantee to ensure the presence and participation of all political forces in the next session of the House of Representatives, and to achieve the required balance in the administration of the state.”
So, is parliament being premature in scheduling a vote for someone for president. Yes someone that Kurdistan is not putting forward? If this is the case then is this a fair election or are they rigging it? Who put forward the name of Nizar Amidi anyhow as the nominee if not Kurdistan?
Let’s take a peek at the article titled “THE PARLIAMENT’S LEADERSHIP THREATENS MPS WHO ARE ABSENT FROM TOMORROW’S SESSION TO ELECT THE PRESIDENT.” The Speaker of Parliament vowed on Friday to publish the names of MPs who will be absent from tomorrow’s session to elect the President of the Republic. Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi said in a statement and I quote from the article – “We call on political leaders, heads of parliamentary blocs, and members of the House of Representatives to attend tomorrow’s session, Saturday, which is dedicated to electing the President of the Republic, and to proceed with completing the constitutional requirements and prioritizing the supreme national interest”
Next we must visit more news in this recent article titled “ATROUSHI ANNOUNCES HIS REFUSAL TO ATTEND THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION SESSION “OUT OF CONCERN FOR THE STABILITY OF THE POLITICAL PROCESS.” In it we learn that on the Friday, before the session of parliament to elect the new president, Farhad Atroushi, the deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament, objected to the agenda of the session scheduled for Saturday to elect the president, saying that proceeding with it in the absence of national and political consensus might deepen the disputes instead of ending the deadlock that has been hindering the formation of the government for months.
Okay are you following this saga so far. This next article is mind boggling and reinforces that they are rigging the election and jammed in candidate without first resolving what Kurdistan wanted all a long and that was to learn who the nominee for the prime minister is. The article is titled “REGARDLESS OF THE KURDISH AGREEMENT, THE FRAMEWORK INTENDS TO DECIDE ON THE POSITION OF PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC AND POSTPONES THE NOMINATION OF THE PRIME MINISTER.”
In this article the coordinating framework that includes the ruling Shiite political forces in Iraq intends to decide on the position of President of the Republic in the House of Representatives session scheduled to be held at the beginning of next week, whether or not an agreement is reached between the Kurdish forces, to whom this position has become their share, while the nomination of a candidate for the position of Prime Minister will be postponed until further notice due to the lack of agreement on this aspect.
In this regard, MP Jawad Rahim Al-Saadi, from the State Forces Alliance, told Shafaq News Agency that next Saturday’s session of the House of Representatives is dedicated to choosing the new President of the Republic of Iraq, stressing that, according to diplomatic and political custom, this position is allocated to the Kurdish forces, “specifically to the Patriotic Union,” as he put it. Yes, it is not for another political block to decide this position which is appears they did on Saturday. Do you see what is going on here with the election. Kurdistan did not select or fully support Nizar Amidi. So who picked him then as the candidate going into Saturday’s session? I do know that he was a potential candidate and they told us this about a month ago. But Kurdistan did not ‘officially’ announce him as their final candidate. Oh… something really bad is cooking in the kitchen with this entire election cycle and I can smell it miles away….
☹ Okay so the saga is far from over. Let’s look at a statement made by the infamous dark, peanut head Nori al-Maliki in the article titled “MALIKI SETS CONDITIONS TO OBSTRUCT SUDANI’S SECOND TERM… AND THE POPULAR MOBILIZATION FORCES ENTER THE FRAY.” Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition, informed the leaders of the Coordination Framework of his readiness to withdraw his candidacy for the position of Prime Minister, in exchange for not nominating and renewing the term of the current Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, for a second term. Yes, we see more and more of the true colors of Nori al-Maliki again come out every time he opens his mouth. Will the Coordination Framework withdrawal Al-Sudani’s nomination anyhow, regardless of his threat? I want to remind you again that Al-Sudani won the popular vote as his block won the most votes of all the blocks. Remember also way back over a months ago Maliki did not nominate himself for prime minister the Coordination Framework joint block nominated him. Does he think he has all the power to control the election candidate for prime minister? This only proves to us that al-Sudani is our man who can continue the reforms and move Iraq forward. The more they resist Sudani for prime minister, the more this confirms to us he should have a second term.
The source told Shafaq News Agency that “Maliki also stipulated that no figure who had previously held the position of Prime Minister in previous governments should be assigned,” referring to the leader of the Victory Coalition, Haider al-Abadi.
Oh, then why does he want the position of prime minister so bad then if this is what he truly believes? He is just playing politics. Can you see how Maliki just moves with the wind and will say anything depending on the direction the wind is blowing. He has no real convictions other than he wants power and control of Iraq for Iran to continue as a proxy puppet state.
He added that several names have been put forward for the position, but no candidate has been decided for prime minister yet.
So, I hope everyone understands what is going on with this election cycle. It appears that Iran is trying desperately to hold on to power in Iraq. This comes in the midst of what is now happing in Iran. Their funds are drying up and they desperately need the continued funds from Iraq to survive, if they even can at this point.
I will project what will most probably happen once the Iranian conflict nears the end. The U.S. under president Trump is going to null and void this election in Iraq and point out the mishaps of what is going on. He will move to site the Judicial Council’s ruling on the matter since it seems it was ignored. Remember the Supreme Judicial Council ruled at that time on it’s interpretation of the largest block and they said was meant as the block which won the popular vote (Al-Sudani’s block The Reconstruction and Development Coalition) not a joint block of a congregate of votes from other blocks combined together to form the largest block. Nouri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law Coalition block received the less votes of all the major blocks, yet he thinks he is going to now dictate terms of who is going to get the nominee for prime minister if he backs out? You have to be kidding me! ☹
Just read the title of al-Sudani’s block – “The Reconstruction and Development Coalition”. This tells us who is going to move the country ahead as he did move Iraq ahead his first four years as prime minister. In fact the progress was amazing, more than in the last two decades. We also learned the strategy of Iran in that they DO NOT want progress and like the status quo. They do not want the dinar to reinstate as it shuts down many of their corrupt schemes to steal the dollars from Iraq. Why would they want al-Sudani then back as prime minister?
There is also a very stupid rumor, and laughable stupidity, that the former special envoy Mark Savoy could be the candidate for prime minister of Iraq. Folks if you fall for this one I have a bridge in Brooklyn NYC I can sell you at a discount price…. Lol.. lol.. lol.. 😊 My advice is stay away from anyone who pushes these kind of idiotic statements.
In the article titled “THE COORDINATING BODY WILL MEET TOMORROW TO DECIDE ON THE PRIME MINISTERIAL CANDIDATE.” We learn that a meeting will be held on Monday, which was yesterday to name the nominee for prime minister. You would think after over 4 months they would least be able to have a solid nominee by now? What makes you think they will now as a result of this next meeting?
Badr Organization leader Mu’in Al-Kadhimi revealed that a crucial meeting of the coordination framework will be held tomorrow, Monday, to decide on the prime minister candidate if he obtains the approval of two-thirds of the framework’s forces. The candidate will be assigned if he obtains the approval of two-thirds of the members of the Coordination Framework.”

Next, we need to take a look at the conflict with Iran between Israel and the U.S. to shut down this terrorist state of Iran. There are way too many analogies to make between this Islamic Jhad terrorist sate and the Nazi regime in WW2 to just ignore it, hoping it would just go away.
For Iraq, we know this issue of Iran is directly related to Iraq too, its close neighbor. We are also concerned about its effects on the ongoing saga of their 2025 Iraqi election cycle and the reinstatement timing for the Iraqi dinar.
Many of these intel gurus will tell you it does not matter and the CBI can RV anytime they want. Really? But they are once again just giving you irrational ‘hopium’ to keep you on the edge of this every day / any day bullshit. So, I am here to tell you they are liars and do not know what the hell they are talking about. Frankly, do you really believe the U.S. is going to sign off on the RV in the midst of the war inside Iran and also the election rigging going on in Iraq? I am also in very close contact to my source in the CBI, with the committee to conduct the Project to Delete the Zeros and I am old the U.S. is directly the only one holding back any further progress on the currency reform.
The term Hopium is a slang term describing an irrational, almost addictive form of optimism, where someone clings to unrealistic hopes despite clear evidence of the contrary.
As I said the war with Iran is moving faster than I can keep up with it. Let’s take a peek at the first important article titled ‘A “LAST CHANCE” MISSION: VANCE IN PAKISTAN TO SALVAGE THE FRAGILE TRUCE AND PREVENT THE WAR WITH IRAN FROM ESCALATING.” In a move reflecting the seriousness of the military situation in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump has tasked his Vice President JD Vance with leading urgent diplomatic efforts to find a way out of the six-week-old war with Iran, at a time when the temporary truce is facing imminent collapse amid tensions that have reached unprecedented levels. Vance’s delegation includes Steve Wittkopf, Trump’s special envoy, and Jared Kushner, the former president’s son-in-law who previously participated in three rounds of indirect talks concerning Tehran’s nuclear and missile programs. This meeting represents one of the highest-level contacts between Washington and Tehran since 1979.
Let’s all face it folks these leaders in Iran are not going to change. They are following an ideology that tells them they are superior and through the Muslim bullshit we all must be conquered and converted. So they think they are on some sort of Holy War with the world but actually it is a cult not a religion after all. Any religion that tells you to go out and kill people is not supported by the God that I know. Since there is only one God then who do they actually worship so many times a day? Is it really the dark elements, the satanic elements? Actions after their worship sessions speak louder than words.
I also want to add that the average Iraqi citizens DO NOT support the PMF or these Iranian terrorists groups in Iraq. In the news this period we learn, once again, of just why president Trump told Iraq that if you call yourself a sovereign nation, then you must act like one and get rid of foreign influences namely Iran and their Qud forces still stationed inside Iraq. But this goes now way beyond these left-over Iranian Qud forces from fighting ISIS, there are now also terrorist organizations that have infiltrated into Iraq too that the U.S. also wants the Iraqi armed forces to appose them and rid Iraq of them. But they won’t. Why?
In this next article titled “WASHINGTON SUMMONS IRAQI AMBASSADOR AND ISSUES “STRONG WARNING” we learn the US State Department summoned the Iraqi ambassador to Washington, Nizar Khairallah, on Thursday, April 9, 2026, to inform him of a strongly worded protest and the US government’s condemnation of the increasing attacks launched by pro-Iranian militias from Iraqi territory.
A statement issued by the US State Department spokesperson said that Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau met with the Iraqi ambassador to express US outrage over the “serious terrorist attacks” targeting diplomatic personnel and facilities, the latest of which was the ambush targeting US diplomats in Baghdad yesterday, April 8.
Can U.S. businesses really want to come into Iraq under these conditions? This is the Trump plan to revitalize Iraq into this huge financial giant. It will eventually take the reinstatement of the dinar too. But first things first.
We see yet more of the armed factions work in Iraq in the article titled “THE REVOLUTIONARY GUARD ESTABLISHES A “FRONT” IN BAGHDAD.” So, Iraqi requests to to the factions halt attacks rejected. Sources revealed that officers in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard continue to manage the operations of armed factions in Iraq and reject political requests to stop the attacks, acting as a “shadow military supervisor” to establish a pressure front on Washington in anticipation of the failure of negotiations with Iran. So, now do you get my point how Iran uses these factions once they are rooted in any country. Two sources from the “Coordination Framework” and the Iraqi government said that the heads of four Shiite parties held discussions in recent weeks with Iranian officials inside Iraq with the aim of convincing them of the need to stop the attacks, but they did not respond.
Sources said that a Quds Force officer with significant influence in Baghdad “does not respond to calls from allies within the coordination framework, limiting his communications to operations officials in armed factions.” The sources quoted a senior Iraqi official, speaking during a private security meeting, as saying, “How is it possible that we cannot stop this man (the Revolutionary Guard officer)?” He added, “Why can’t we arrest him?”
I find this article almost unbelievable of the stupidity in the Iraqi politicians to let this even get to this point with these factions inside Iraq. This article says it all. WOW! WOW! WOW! These Iranian Quds factions in Iraq are uncontrollable and so now the Iraqi politicians themselves are seeing what president Trump has been saying all along. Will they still resist Al-Sudani and his agreement with the US to rid Iraq of these factions! Are you connecting the pieces to this puzzle yet? Are you seeing what is going to happen in the very near future as eventually Iraq will have to get rid of these Iranian backed factions.
😊 I kind of like some of what is in this article today. Okay so blame it all on the US once again. In this next article I find it offensive, almost ironic since Iraq has every chance to ask these Qud forces to leave Iraq in 2007 once the ISIS war was over. Did they? Now they blame the US for what is going on factions. However, we see momentum taking place is that will they eventually ask the US for help to rid them? I think this is coming in the very near future and Iraq knows it too. The article it titled “AL-KHAZALI: AMERICA IS PREVENTING THE ARMING OF THE IRAQI ARMY AND CONTROLLING THE ECONOMY TO BLACKMAIL THE STATE.” The head of the Victorious parliamentary bloc, Faleh al-Khazali, called on Saturday for the immediate implementation of the parliamentary resolution mandating the withdrawal of foreign forces from the country, asserting that their presence constitutes an obstacle to national sovereignty. In a statement to the Information Agency, al-Khazali said, “The United States is pursuing a clear policy of preventing the arming of the Iraqi army and the development of its defense capabilities,” indicating that “Washington seeks to maintain its control over the military establishment.”
😊 Next in a recent article we read that the oil must keep flowing to the developed countries, as this is the life -line to them. The blocking of the oil tankers from the middle east can not be continue. Let’s explore what is happening in this direction in the article titled “AMONG THEM IS IRAQ… OIL-PRODUCING COUNTRIES PREPARE TO RESUME EXPORTS THROUGH THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ.” Informed economic sources reported on Friday that oil-producing countries in the Middle East, including Iraq, have contacted Asian refineries to prepare for the resumption of crude exports during the current and following months, following the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States. Reuters quoted three sources as saying that Middle Eastern producers have asked Asian refineries to submit crude oil loading programs for April and May, in preparation for resuming shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
We know that US destroyers are now clearing the mines from the waters of the straight to open the waterway. Careless Iranian navy mined the waters in the recent past without records of the locations of the mines even making the task of clearing them more difficult. In the future there is going to be a canal built that will bypass having to travel around the straights anyhow. This is project is probably going to start soon after this war settles down.
SUMMARY
The summary is meant to help summarize the news not an entire update of the current news. Please also go read all of what I explained to you in the Status of the RV above as you wouldn’t want to miss the details. We all need to understand what is going on and learn the FACTS and the TRUTH. You can’t come to me later asking why is it taking so long for the RV because I am telling you now. I provide this to you so we all can learn and stop listening to all the garbage these intel guru idiots are putting out on the internet about this RV. They have made it into a business, a three-ring circus, rather than honest sources of information to help you. They take a tiny piece of the news and turn it into a mountain of facts that is pure speculation and rumors. My hubby and I sit often and just listen and laugh at how stupid it all is and how gullible people must be to believe this crap.
Don’t be fooled and lulled into this election saga being over soon. I wish it was the case. The outcome of this election will forever change the way elections are run in Iraq. What will most likely happen is this. With this conflict going on in Iran is that this twelve-day ceasefire will be worthless as the Iranians are not yet ready to capitulate. They are liars and do not fulfill agreements anyhow. It is unfortunately they need more destruction of their country first to wake them up. Unbelievable but true, their leadership, of what is left of it, still believes they hold all the cards or any cards at all.
Fortunately for the US, it is buying time for the US Navy to clear the mines in the straight, make passage and allow them to set up a blockade. It is also giving time to build up US marine reinforcements to land on Kharg Island to take control of the oil storage facilities and delivery capabilities of Iranian oil. See my 04/07 Newsletter for more info about this move.
If the Iranians are not going to volunteer to hand over this enriched uranium, then the US will have to go in and take it by force. This will mean a land invasion of some sort.
We should all not expect much out of this 12-day cease fire as the US will most likely have to go ahead with the continued destruction of Iranian infrastructure such as roads, bridges and power plants, as threatened. Yes, it will be the average citizen of Iran that will pay the ultimate price the most, as in all wars. Will this finally wake up the Iranian leadership as so far nothing seems to be working?
The citizens too are part of the problem and bring it upon themselves as they could amass, riot in the millions to appose what is left of the regime. They could storm all military bases and government buildings and take control. But will they help gain their own freedom? Yes, there will be some more loss of lives but this is what results from these Islamic revolutions when they must fall. They are nothing but suffering, death and destruction. When will people learn the truth about this Islamic Jihad, Muslim cult attempt for takeover of the world?
In Iraq, we all can see Iran is slowly attempting to get their Qud armed forces dug in to control the Iraqi population and the political structure just as they did during the 1979 revolution against the Shah. This is what happens when you allow any cult to take control. There is also going to be a day of reconning in Iraq too for their negligence with their handling of Iran as a so-called sovereign nation. Are they really that sovereign after all?
Under president Trump, there will probably be two options to take for Iraq:
1.a blunt stop to the 2025 elections at some point under allegations of fraud and the fraud will be justified. This Newsletter details the fraud in this election very well;
2.it might also go the other way if al-Sudani is placed for a second term, overlooking the presidency and complaints of the Kurds over it. There will then be no need to rerun all the elections, just maybe the many who elected Iranian parliamentary members;
3.There is a very strong possibility that the US may also force Iraq to recognize the Supreme Judicial Council’s ruling on the definition of the majority block, sooner or later which will change elections forever in Iraq and speed them up according to the timing as stated in the constitution. The US may be enforced to do it in this election cycle with selecting the nominee for prime minister or wait until the next election cycle and work out the details. In the meantime, if Al-Sudani get the prime minister the US will not shake the beehive yet and wait as to how the majority block will be determined for later debate. Again, it all depends who the prime minister nominee turns out to be from the Coordination Framework in next couple weeks. This is at the very heart of the problem with the elections and will be fixed, now or later.
All of this could happen very quickly and probably will move quickly after the Iranian issues settle down. It is coming. I also want to point out about the oil. The prophet Hank Kunnerman recently told us about a prophetic word concerning oil supplies. We all should go listen to what he had to say concerning future oil prices. I placed his prophecy in the section today.
Let us keep praying. The fact that we are this far along in destroying the Iranian Islamic regime is almost a miracle in my eyes. I never thought I would see this in my lifetime. Yes, I knew it had to happen and prayed for it to happen. This wicked, dark Islamic regime must be totally destroyed if we are ever going to have peace in the middle east. I might also add – peace in the world.

These prophecies are more important now more than ever. They give us the strength, perseverance and hope that a better time is coming and that God’s Hand is at work behind the scenes. It is amazing and there is no other way that these events could have happened the way they turned out. But there is more to come, much, much more, I assure you! Now that God has his biblical David re-elected, we need to pay attention to what He does next.

But the real reason why I listen to them is that we can actually see what God says He will do is taking place right in front of our noses. It is a confirmation to me that God is real and is still with us forever just as in biblical times.

PRESIDENT MASOUD BARZANI: WE REFUSE TO ELECT A PRESIDENT BEFORE AGREEING ON A PRIME MINISTER.
President Masoud Barzani today affirmed a firm stance regarding the developments in the political process in Iraq, rejecting attempts by some parties within the “Coordination Framework” to proceed with the election of the President of the Republic without resolving the issue of the Prime Minister candidate.
President Barzani said in a statement on Friday via the X platform that insisting on presenting one file over another in light of the lack of clarity regarding the leadership of the government is “unacceptable”.
President Barzani stressed the need to resolve the two issues “simultaneously” as a basic condition for proceeding with any constitutional entitlement, stressing that this path is the only guarantee to ensure the presence and participation of all political forces in the next session of the House of Representatives, and to achieve the required balance in the administration of the state.

The Speaker of Parliament vowed on Friday to publish the names of MPs who will be absent from tomorrow’s session to elect the President of the Republic.
Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi said in a statement, “We call on political leaders, heads of parliamentary blocs, and members of the House of Representatives to attend tomorrow’s session, Saturday, which is dedicated to electing the President of the Republic, and to proceed with completing the constitutional requirements and prioritizing the supreme national interest, in light of the security and economic conditions the country is going through, which require everyone to bear their national responsibilities.”
He confirmed that “the names of the absent MPs, as well as the political blocs that prevent their MPs from attending, will be published in order to inform the public.”

ATROUSHI ANNOUNCES HIS REFUSAL TO ATTEND THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION SESSION “OUT OF CONCERN FOR THE STABILITY OF THE POLITICAL PROCESS.”
On Friday, Farhad Atroushi, the deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament, objected to the agenda of the session scheduled for Saturday to elect the president, saying that proceeding with it in the absence of national and political consensus might deepen the disputes instead of ending the deadlock that has been hindering the formation of the government for months.
In a statement, Atroushi said that political forces still need more dialogue and understandings to reach a candidate who enjoys broad acceptance, adding that the dispute is not limited to the position of President of the Republic, but also extends to the position of Prime Minister, about whom he said that political forces have the right to see the name of their candidate and express their opinion on him.
He pointed out that his position comes “out of concern for the stability of the political process and to ensure the democratic path in the country.”
Atrushi’s stance comes despite major blocs announcing their intention to attend Saturday’s session. The National State Forces Alliance, led by Ammar al-Hakim, and the Progress Party, led by Mohammed al-Halbousi, confirmed the participation of their representatives in the session. The Reconstruction and Development Bloc, supported by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, also announced its full attendance.
However, the position of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, to which Atroushi belongs, is still not definitively decided, as the party has linked its participation in the session to reaching a broader political consensus.

The parliament’s leadership had set April 11 as the date for the special session to elect the president of the republic, in an attempt to end a political deadlock that has persisted since the legislative elections in October/November 2025.
Iraq has exceeded the constitutional deadline by about 70 days, while 148 days have passed without the formation of a new government.

REGARDLESS OF THE KURDISH AGREEMENT, THE FRAMEWORK INTENDS TO DECIDE ON THE POSITION OF PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC AND POSTPONES THE NOMINATION OF THE PRIME MINISTER.
The coordinating framework that includes the ruling Shiite political forces in Iraq intends to decide on the position of President of the Republic in the House of Representatives session scheduled to be held at the beginning of next week, whether or not an agreement is reached between the Kurdish forces, to whom this position has become their share, while the nomination of a candidate for the position of Prime Minister will be postponed until further notice due to the lack of agreement on this aspect.
Iraqi political parties are trying to alleviate the internal pressure they are under, especially after several months have passed since the legislative elections in late 2025 and their failure to form a new Iraqi government. Regional developments have added another layer of complexity to the scene, with security tensions escalating to unprecedented levels in the Middle East region.
In this regard, MP Jawad Rahim Al-Saadi, from the State Forces Alliance, told Shafaq News Agency that next Saturday’s session of the House of Representatives is dedicated to choosing the new President of the Republic of Iraq, stressing that, according to diplomatic and political custom, this position is allocated to the Kurdish forces, “specifically to the Patriotic Union,” as he put it.
After the Iraqi parliament elected its new speaker, who is from the Sunni component, it was the Kurds’ turn to present their candidate for the position of President of the Republic, which is from this component.
It has been customary for this position to go to the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan party, but in the last two election cycles, the Kurdistan Democratic Party objected to this and began demanding that a candidate from its party assume this position, especially after it swept the elections with the highest number of votes in the two cycles in the Kurdistan Region.
Regarding the Kurds’ position on Saturday’s session, Al-Saadi confirmed, “If they agree, the agreed-upon candidate for the position of President of the Republic will be passed by them, and if that does not happen, the choice will be up to the members of the House of Representatives.”
At the end of 2025, Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani called for a change in the mechanism for electing the Iraqi president, which is the “quota of the Kurds,” while he submitted a proposal that stipulates that this position be held by a candidate chosen by the Kurdish parties and blocs, and not necessarily be exclusive to the two main parties in the region (the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan).

Regarding the candidate of the Coordination Framework for the position of Prime Minister, the MP from the “State Forces Alliance” indicated that there is no agreed-upon candidate within the framework at the present time, revealing that the framework will present its candidate after the election of the President of the Republic.
The Coordination Framework had officially nominated Maliki on January 24, a move that opened the door to negotiations to form the new government, but the process faltered as disagreements continued over the election of the President of the Republic, the constitutional entitlement that precedes assigning the candidate of the largest bloc to form the government.
Any future prime minister in Iraq will face challenges in managing the balance between Iranian influence and American pressure, as well as the issue of armed factions linked to Tehran.
Pressure on Maliki’s nomination increased after US President Donald Trump announced on January 27 that Washington would not continue to support Iraq if Maliki returned to the premiership, while Maliki later said he would welcome a decision to replace his nomination if it came from the coalition that nominated him.

AL-MAR’IDI: BARZANI’S REFUSAL TO RECOGNIZE THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC PLACES HIM OUTSIDE THE FRAMEWORK OF THE POLITICAL PROCESS.
MP Mansour Al-Maridi indicated today, Sunday, that Barzani’s refusal to recognize the President of the Republic puts him outside the framework of the political process.
Al-Mar’idi told Al-Ma’louma News Agency that “such steps would create a new political crisis in the country,” explaining that “the political process is based on consensus and respect for the results, and any party that rejects it puts itself outside this framework.”
Al-Maridi added that “what is happening does not serve the stability of Iraq and increases tension between political forces,” stressing “the need for calm and a return to dialogue because the country cannot bear more disputes at this stage.”

The source told Shafaq News Agency that “Maliki also stipulated that no figure who had previously held the position of Prime Minister in previous governments should be assigned,” referring to the leader of the Victory Coalition, Haider al-Abadi.

The Reconstruction and Development Coalition confirmed on Monday that its leader, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, could be tasked with forming the new government within 48 hours, and indicated that he has broad support within the coordination framework and from other political forces.
The framework is preparing to hold a meeting this Monday evening to discuss nine candidates, amid the introduction of alternative names, including a consensus candidate, after the largest bloc called for naming its candidate in accordance with Article 76 of the Constitution, in light of political and security complications that may delay the resolution of the issue.

Al-Kadhimi said, during his appearance on the “On the Ruler” program broadcast by Al-Furat satellite channel, that “the coordination framework will hold a meeting tomorrow, Monday, to discuss the file of the prime minister candidate,” indicating that “the candidate will be assigned if he obtains the approval of two-thirds of the members of the framework.”
He added that “the election of the President of the Republic by the House of Representatives represents an important step after nearly 100 days since the convening of its first session,” stressing that “there is no room for interpretations or delays in deciding on the nomination of the Prime Minister.”
Al-Kadhimi pointed out that “the names previously put forward for the premiership have expired, and the coordination framework is now faced with the option of choosing a new candidate capable of running the state, especially in light of the current economic and financial challenges and regional conditions.”
He noted that “there is some opposition to granting a second term,” suggesting that “the most likely option is to move towards a new candidate for prime minister,” stressing that “the 15-day deadline is sufficient to appoint the candidate.”

Iraqi requests to halt attacks rejected
Sources revealed that officers in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard continue to manage the operations of armed factions in Iraq and reject political requests to stop the attacks, acting as a “shadow military supervisor” to establish a pressure front on Washington in anticipation of the failure of negotiations.

AL-KHAZALI: AMERICA IS PREVENTING THE ARMING OF THE IRAQI ARMY AND CONTROLLING THE ECONOMY TO BLACKMAIL THE STATE.
The head of the Victorious parliamentary bloc, Faleh al-Khazali, called on Saturday for the immediate implementation of the parliamentary resolution mandating the withdrawal of foreign forces from the country, asserting that their presence constitutes an obstacle to national sovereignty. In a statement to the Information Agency, al-Khazali said, “The United States is pursuing a clear policy of preventing the arming of the Iraqi army and the development of its defense capabilities,” indicating that “Washington seeks to maintain its control over the military establishment.”

AMONG THEM IS IRAQ… OIL-PRODUCING COUNTRIES PREPARE TO RESUME EXPORTS THROUGH THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ
Informed economic sources reported on Friday that oil-producing countries in the Middle East, including Iraq, have contacted Asian refineries to prepare for the resumption of crude exports during the current and following months, following the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the United States.
Reuters quoted three sources as saying that Middle Eastern producers have asked Asian refineries to submit crude oil loading programs for April and May, in preparation for resuming shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
The two-week ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, announced late Tuesday/early Wednesday, raised hopes of reopening the strait through which about 20% of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas supplies passed before the war.
There has been no indication so far that Tehran will end its near-total closure of the vital waterway, a closure that has caused a sharp rise in energy prices.
Two sources said that Saudi Aramco has asked its customers to submit requests to load shipments from the ports of Yanbu and Ras Tanura in May.
One of them explained that this matter depends on the resumption of exports from the eastern port of Ras Tanura, which requires ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
The sources requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
Aramco informed buyers last month that crude oil shipments in April could only originate from the western port of Yanbu on the Red Sea. The company’s oil production flows to Yanbu via the East-West pipeline.
However, the Saudi Press Agency reported yesterday, Thursday, citing an official source in the Ministry of Energy, that attacks on energy facilities in the country caused a reduction in the Kingdom’s oil production by about 600,000 barrels per day, and a decrease in the flow of crude oil through the (East-West) pipeline by about 700,000 barrels per day.
Earlier this week, Iraq’s state oil marketing company SOMO asked its customers to submit loading schedules following media reports that Iran had exempted Iraq from restrictions on passage through the Strait of Hormuz.
Asian refining and trading companies are looking for tankers to load crude oil from the Gulf region in the coming days following the ceasefire announcement.
Commodity trader Glencore and Taiwan’s state-owned refiner CPC have each chartered a tanker to load crude oil from the Middle East to Asia, and Indian and South Korean refiners are also looking for tankers to load Iraqi crude this month.
On the other hand, two sources stated that Kuwait Oil Company has set shipping dates for Kuwaiti crude for export on a delivery-on-board (DOB) basis in April.
One of them said that shipment nominations are being prepared and will be determined based on customers’ ability to receive shipments.

The first is a clear measure of the well-being of the Iraqi people by strengthening the social and economic structure through increasing national income. Also, radical reform procedures in the infrastructure structure are carried out by reviewing and formulating laws in a way that is consistent with the state’s ambition in light of the economic development of the people, which necessarily leads to reducing unemployment and poverty. As far as this is related, it is necessary to strive to complete investment projects such as industry and agriculture.
Moreover, paying attention to the citizen’s trust and sense of national responsibility, and spreading the spirit of positive contribution to good work for building and within the effective social and economic reform programs of the state, undoubtedly leads to deepening the love of performance and diligent giving for the sake of sustainable productive contribution. All of this is through this positive interaction that Iraq is going through today economically and in terms of security.
Investment development will not reach the required level unless cooperation is strengthened through that positive contribution to work. Therefore, the importance of implementing investment to achieve development goals is the basic pillar for achieving self-sufficiency and securing the confrontation of unregulated import campaigns in the local market and through the official commercial bodies that continue in order to protect the national product.
To prevent flooding of the local market, the import of poultry, table eggs, and live, frozen, and chilled fish was banned, and national projects were supported in providing various goods to local markets in order to stimulate the productive sectors and provide opportunities.
Activating the investment policy in various state institutions requires mobilizing national efforts and exploiting available opportunities by continuing to support national investment by attracting modern technology through the stages of economic digital transformation to keep pace with Iraq’s future prospects towards progress and development by exploiting the opportunities available in the positive atmosphere that Iraq is going through.
It is worth noting that the interaction between policy and investment forms a crucial link for guiding economies toward sustainable growth. Policymakers wield considerable power in shaping the investment landscape through regulations, incentives, and strategic planning. Their decisions can either stimulate or stifle investment flows into sectors critical to long-term economic resilience and environmental sustainability. Conversely, by directing capital toward innovative and sustainable projects, investors can influence policy by demonstrating the viability and profitability of responsible investment strategies.
