GIVE A GIFT TO MNT GOAT
I decided to allow everyone to give a Free-will GIFT to Mnt Goat on PayPal if you so desire. Here is the link below.
Since 2013, I have taken my own time from my gasthaus business to research and document findings about the revaluation and reinstatement of the Iraqi dinar. At this time more than ever I do not need to spend my time doing all this. My time is hard to find, as I have to hold down two formal jobs already due to COVID just to keep the business going. So, I do it out of charity and love for YOU with the understanding that all of us do NOT have the time to go do our own research. We are busy with our jobs, our daily lives and raising our children. I am saying this takes time and is like a third job.
I recommend $10-$15 dollars a month or whatever you can afford. Do you realize I write eight (8) Newsletters every month. I have to investigate the news and try to pull out the FACTS, then pull off the articles from Iraqi news channels, translate them, talk to my contact in Iraq and then write and publish the Newsletter. Do you think perhaps a little gift might show some appreciation for all this hard work? Just asking…. Still only a hand full of readers help out each month. Enough said….. The future of the Newsletter depends upon you.
Let’s all try to chip in!

TRUMP: WE WILL MEET WITH THE IRANIANS NEXT WEEK AND WE MAY REACH AN AGREEMENT.
US President Donald Trump ruled out on Wednesday (June 25, 2025) the desire of Israel and Iran to return to war. Trump said in a press statement: “I do not believe that either Israel or Iran will attack the other after today.”
He added, “Last week, we carried out a very precise and successful attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities,” stressing, “We have a great military, and our attacks in Iran demonstrated the power of American deterrence.”
Trump indicated that “the massive deployment of American power paved the way for peace.” He continued, “According to a statement by the Israel Atomic Energy Commission, the attacks succeeded in setting back Iran’s nuclear program for years.”
The US president criticized “the fake media in the United States that question the results of our strikes in Iran,” noting that “30 missiles were launched from American submarines during our attack and accurately destroyed their targets in Iran.”

TRUMP: I WILL MEET WITH THE IRANIANS NEXT WEEK AND MAY ASK FOR A PLEDGE THAT IRAN WILL NOT RESUME ITS NUCLEAR ACTIVITY.
US President Donald Trump announced that he will meet with Iranian officials next week, and may ask for a pledge that Iran will not resume its nuclear activity.Trump said in a press conference: “Iran fought a brave war, and the Iranians want money to rebuild their country, and China can buy oil from them.”
He added: “We hit Iran hard before it could move any nuclear materials from the facilities we bombed.” Trump continued: “The war is over and we will meet with the Iranians next week, and I may ask Iran for a pledge not to resume its nuclear activities.”
(It would be very sad if the regime is not changed. This would be a “grave” mistake! Let’s pray that God’s will is done whatever happens.)

IRANIAN PRESIDENT: WE ARE READY FOR COMPREHENSIVE COOPERATION AND TO OPEN A NEW PAGE WITH THE GULF STATES.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced on Sunday his country’s readiness for comprehensive cooperation and to open a new page with the Gulf Cooperation Council.
During the cabinet meeting, Pezeshkian said that Iran is ready for comprehensive cooperation with the Gulf Cooperation Council, and that “through this path, we can open a new page in our relations in the region itself, given the urgent need to strengthen ties and develop cooperation among Islamic countries,” according to the IRNA news agency.
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, condemned “in the strongest terms the missile attack launched by Iran against the State of Qatar.”
Meanwhile, Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE president, said on Saturday that Iran “is required to restore trust with its Gulf neighbors.” Doha was hit by an Iranian missile barrage last Monday evening. Tehran claimed that the attack was not targeting Qatar, but rather the US Al-Udeid airbase on Qatari territory.
The targeting of Al Udeid airbase came in response to the US bombing of nuclear facilities inside Iranian territory. Hours after this Iranian response, the US president declared a ceasefire and an end to the escalation between Iran and Israel, which had lasted 12 days.

A SIGNIFICANT DECLINE IN THE VOLUME OF FOREIGN LOANS, AND IRAQ IS IN THE GREEN SIDE IN INTERNATIONAL CREDIT STANDARDS.
Iraq’s external financial policy has improved its global credit rating, with external debt declining to approximately $10 billion. Despite the rise in domestic debt, economists assert that it poses no risk, thanks to the government’s ability to set interest rates and schedule repayments.
The Iraqi government’s foreign financial policy appears to be improving, as evidenced by a decline in foreign borrowing rates. This decline raises Iraq’s global credit rating, which is based on the size of the debt and the country’s ability to repay interest.
STATUS OF THE RV
As you may have realized there was no Thursday Newsletter. In anticipation of news from Iraq that I wanted to include did not get passed on to me. I am still being told that Iran is the key to the currency reform in Iraq. I believe that I have showed you more than enough evidence of the Iran dilemma as it is now a FACTUAL holdup in our quest. Today I am going to give you yet more evidence.
But for how long will this Iranian dilemma last? Let’s explore that today.
My contact in the CBI has been placed back on the committee for the Project to Delete the Zeros. So, this tells us something, but what? Are they deciding now what to do? Is it time?
In the past Newsletter I told you that the CBI has already gotten the green light to go with the Project to Delete the Zeros, but with caveats. Unfortunately, these issues of the caveats are mostly NOT under their control. ☹ To sum it up, in order to kick off the resetting of these currencies they will need Security and Stability in the middle east, especially with Iran. Iraq is the key to the reset.
Will they have an Iranian regime change? I am told the only issue stopping this from happening is the fact that there is no guarantee that there would not be worst a regime to replace the one that already exists. I am also not sure why the U.S. did not finish the job of destroying the other known nuclear enrichment sites in Iran. Clearly the job was only done half way and half-fast! Was it just a political move (stunt) on Trump’s part? Yes, a chess move perhaps? So, there is still much work to be done in the issues with Iran…trust me on this one….
The fragile ceasefire between Israel and Iran gave rise to cautious hope for longer-term peace, but it is too early to see what exactly the near or farther future will bring. The prophets tell us of a certain change in the middle east, one of abundance and prosperity and it will come SUDDENLY. Are they talking only about the revaluation of currencies, the reset or the prelude to the revaluation, the changes that must occur, which of course must happen first. We can all see it coming we are not blind.
😊You might want to read the article in the recent news titled “US OFFICIALS TOLD WESTERN MEDIA THAT IRANIAN OFFICIALS SAID IN INTERCEPTED COMMUNICATIONS THAT THE US STRIKES ON IRAN’S NUCLEAR PROGRAM”. Folks I don’t make this stuff up. I only report on the FACTS. 😊 You can also clearly see how war in the middle east creates INSTABILITY and so take a peak at article titled “THE DOLLAR IS DECLINING.” POSITIVE INDICATORS FROM THE SULAYMANIYAH STOCK EXCHANGE AFTER THE WAR ENDED.” This article makes my point about Iran and how changing the regime and “totally” destroying the nuclear enrichment sites could change the entire dynamics of the region and in a VERY GOOD way…
☹Then take a look at the article titled “THE WAR HIGHLIGHTED THE WEAKNESS OF THE IRAQI ECONOMY AND REVEALED ITS DEPENDENCE ON IRAN.” So, you are still not convinced we are waiting for this Iranian mess to be settled to get the RV? Can you read? Did you graduate from elementary school? How much more will it take to wake you up to the situation at hand and the connection to our investment?
Clarify Bad Intel:
More intel guru talk about the RV already occurring and they are just waiting for it to come out. How foolish is all this bullshit! We heard this over and over again from the same idiots. You think they would realize by now just how foolish their bullshit is? There is no RV and certainly no one is trading the dinar, as of yet as any significant rates. These idiots are telling their listeners that the trading is at over $4 + yet why in hell would anyone buy the dinar at that rate when they can easily go to the ISX and invest in it for a sixth of a penny. I don’t know you tell me….. Yes, just stupid nonsense since they have nothing better to review with their listeners they simply make stuff up.
What else is in the news…..
There are many interesting topics on the fight to get the budget tables over to parliament. The finance committee told the news media this could happen in July.Oh boy… haven’t we heard this before?….. You might want to take peak at the following articles on this topic titled “MP SUES GOVERNMENT OVER DELAY IN SENDING BUDGET TABLES TO PARLIAMENT” and “THREE REASONS IDENTIFIED…THE PARLIAMENTARY FINANCE COMMITTEE RULES OUT SENDING BUDGET TABLES TO PARLIAMENT”.
So, in attempting to understand this budget dilemma, they have now told us officially what the reasons are for the delay. Hussein Mounes, a member of the Iraqi Parliament’s Finance Committee, told us that there are several reasons for the government’s exclusion from sending the federal budget schedules to parliament:
1.most notably the financial deficit,
2.unstable financial revenues,
3.the lack of a real economic vision, and
4.the approaching date of the legislative elections,
It is easy understand the first two reasons however the last two are all political. Why is the budget so important? Really now its not so important for our purposes of the RV. If anything having the budget come out on time will add to the needed stability of Iraq in the eyes of the IMF and the World Bank.
😊 Let us keep in mind the ongoing initiatives of Iraq. In the article titled “INTEGRITY: IRAQ JOINS BEIJING’S CLEAN SILK ROAD INITIATIVE” We learn that the Federal Integrity Commission announced, on Tuesday (June 24, 2025), Iraq’s accession to the “Beijing Clean Silk Road Initiative,”. This is all good news as China will bring capital into Iraq to kick start these industrial cities they keep talking about. Yes, it all takes money.
Then we also learn in article titled “AL-SUDANI: “MADE IN IRAQ” IS A NATIONAL PROJECT WE ARE COUNTING ON.” That Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani inaugurated, on last Wednesday, the Construction Cooperation Center (Construction Basket), which was implemented by the General Company for Construction Materials Trade at the Ministry of Trade, in partnership with the private sector. They will need materials to build these industrial cities as well as housing and other establishments to support them. We have heard so much talk already about these cities and now we hear yet more emphasis from the government on them. Yes, they are counting on this initiative to move then ahead in the private sector and get off the “rentier” economy of 90% solely based oil revenues.
As investors we must stay focused. We can look at the Iranian / Israel conflict as holding things up, but for Iraq they keep trucking on and on. Al-Sudani stays focused on the objectives. Why? He knows that the SECRET to success is these industrial cities. He must get his country off the “rentier” economy.
☹So, they are plowing ahead in spite of the issues with Iran. It is the U.S. that manipulates Iraq as they need certain behavior from Iraq during this time of conflict. Did you read the article titled “SWIFT: WASHINGTON’S WEAPON FOR BLACKMAILING COUNTRIES AND STRANGLING IRAQ” It says economic expert, Faleh Al-Zubaidi, confirmed last Saturday, that the United States of America is using the global financial transfer system “SWIFT” as a tool for economic pressure on countries that do not align with its interests. WOW! Did you read this statement?
He pointed out that Iraq has become one of the countries subjected to such pressures aimed at pushing Washington’s agendas in the region. Al-Zubaidi told Al-Maalouma, “SWIFT is an international financial network used to transfer funds between banks around the world. It is effectively subject to direct American control, which makes it a political tool in Washington’s hands to punish governments that reject its policies.” So, do you still dispute that it is the U.S. holding back the RV. Just saying….. So, tell me again that it is not the U.S. holding back Iraq from FOREX… go ahead tell me….!!!!! Oh…the CBI has the power to RV anytime they want, so they say. Really? Did you read today’s articles or just listening to you fancy-pants intel guru? ☹
What can we as investors do right now?
- Pray and pray that nothing will mess this up….
- Be very patient….
- Do not sell your dinar….
- No more intel guru talk….
- No more NESARA / GESARA crazy talk
- Stop listening to all these idiots as they are only confusing you more and more (especially TNT and “The Big Call” idiots.)
- Don’t over speculate and set unjustified expectations
Their words not mine…..No Rumors, No Hype, No Opinions ,,,,,
Just the FACTS!

These prophecies are more important now more than ever. They give us the strength, perseverance and hope that a better time is coming and that God’s Hand is at work behind the scenes. If you just take a second even to look around you at these past three election cycles, how can you deny that God is at work? Are you sleeping or what?
It is amazing and there is no other way that these events could have happened the way they turned out. But there is more to come, much, much more, I assure you! Now that God has his biblical David re-elected, we need to pay attention to what He does next.
God told us it will be an “hypnotic November” and turbulent until June 2025 and so, isn’t it? June is here. Was He lying to us? Remember that these globalists satanic cult have had it too good for too long and are not just going to lay down and let themselves be destroyed. They are going to fight until the very end to maintain control over you. If all else fails, they will get more and more desperate to overcome the good trying to rebuild and free our nation.
NOTE: These prophecies just keep getting better and better, giving us HOPE of a bright future. But the real reason why I listen to them is that we can actually see what God says He will do is taking place right in front of our noses. It is a confirmation to me that God is real and is still with us forever just as in biblical times.
From God to the PROPHET: Julie Green
The prophetic words seem to be getting more powerful which usually means we are coming to a climatic period and intensity as to when events begin to happen.
“Things are Changing- A Time of Great Warfare”
The prophecy today can be found at the 20:33 minute mark on the video. From June 22nd.
Again, this is a VERY POWERFUL prophecy. I can hardly believe this will actually happen as it would be so good for the country. God has spoken!

About the prophetic word:
How do these people know these things? Is it God speaking to them of the future?
How is all these prophecies related to the IQD revaluation?
First I need to add that God has given multiple prophecies already about the IQD revaluation and His form of the global reset. In each He specifically talks about Iran, Iraq and Southern Asia (Vietnam).
With the prophecies, unlike the RV saga, we hardly ever get a firm timeline, but we must stay faithful and know that God will be faithful to us and provide what he promises to his prophets and promises to us. Like the clean out of SCOTUS now coming about so will the RV.
Remember that, like us listening to these prophecies, the dark side also listens to them and constructs obstacles in an attempt to overcome them and stop them. This is intentional and we will soon learn of the truths behind why the RV was halted in 2012, besides what we already know. There were some very dark elements involved.
We know the RV of the IQD is unstoppable but it can be delayed and was delayed by these dark elements in 2012. I firmly believe this is what happened in 2012 when the CBI has an “unprecedented opportunity”, according to Dr Shabibi in his 2015 interview before his passing, to get the Iraqi dinar back online in the foreign currency exchanges.
I have been trying to explain to everyone many time already that this is when the criteria all changed under the Obama administration, thus we sit for another 13 years waiting for Iraq to meet this new stringent criterion. They did this in a well-orchestrated, corrupt plan to hold it up, but only after these corrupt U.S. politicians exchanged their dinar and no longer cared about Iraq.
Folks it has been 13 years since! Are we now also approaching the other 2 prophecies by Kim Clement telling of the wealth transfer, the reset and the coming PEACE in the middle east. I have presented these prophecies to you also many times in the past. These are all connected together. All the signs show that this may very well be the time now for Iraq.
But today the prophecy we are looking at is about SCOTUS and the judges stepping down will also have huge implications on many things. Also, the impact on Federal and district court judges. Let’s just sit back and watch it all play out, knowing that God’s Hand is at work.
Kim Clement piece from 2014 prophecy
2 Supreme Court Justices will step down. This is going to happen shortly.

HOW DO WE KILL THE GIANTS OF DEBT, SOCIALISM AND SECULARISM?
Please, please listen VERY carefully to this prophecy. I cannot emphasize enough to spend the time to watch this one – “The Big E”. I am not saying its going to take 6-7 years to get the RV, but that the RV is part of the process along the way and will happen in the process of the prophecy fulfillment.
Do you remember these prophecies from 2007? This is our time now to fulfill these prophecies. So, let’s take a step back and rewind to review them. Then watch to see if Trump does orchestrate their fulfillment. I also believe this wiping out the debt is related to the new energy sources that are coming. In the meantime, the US will work at bringing down the cost of energy. But I believe this will only be a temporary measure until these new sources come.
Folks, I know you may be having a hard time seeing this, but all of this goes hand-in-hand with what we are looking for… the RV of the Iraqi dinar.
This prophecy is especially important and coincides with the more recent Feb 9th prophecy from Julie Green. Did you listen to it? WOW!

Pray, Pray, Pray & Pray some more!
Please try to remember to pray each and every day. In Hebrews 11:6, it underscores this principle of why we pray: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
You don’t have to be Catholic to pray….lol..lol.. As a Christian, praying the rosaries for me is my way to pray and has had a significant impact on my life and focus during this Easter season and throughout the year. I find it is good to remember the Stations of the Cross during lent and what our savior did for us. In know many of you may not be Catholics or even Christians but try to take a different approach this Easter. Try to see what all the fuss is about Christ. Put yourself in Christ shoes (or should I say sandals) as an ordinary person in today’s world. You can quickly see that the nature of man has not changed very much and if Christ were born today, many would probably try to crucify him. Have we not learned anything?
We all know something has gone terribly wrong with our nation. A supernatural battle is taking place to determine the fate of America. In just twelve minutes a day you help bring forth a divine intervention to save our country using this book. Let us not forget to fast, meditate and pray for the salvation of America. There is an organization that is taking on this endeavor through helpful prayer guidance. This is what I plan to do. How about you?
Anyone can join the hundreds of thousands already involved in this rapidly-growing prayer

“MR. SHIFTY SCHIFF’S” GRAND STANDING DOES NOT PAY OFF …..
Yes, his days are numbered too…. like all the rest of these bastard Marxists Communists democrats.
“NOBODY DARES SAY THIS ABOUT THE LEFT—EXCEPT VICTOR DAVIS HANSON!!”
SCOTUS IS UNDER FIRE FOR UNCONSTITUTIONAL RULINGS
Many supreme court justices are now ruling based on a Marxist construct ideology and not the US Constitution, as the rule of law. Did they not take an oath of office to follow the Constitution? These liberal justices are slowly being placed within SCOTUS one by one by liberal presidents from the democrat party. This is where our country gets into real trouble if you can’t have justice. Here we go again….more corruption!
SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ACCUSED OF HYPOCRISY ON INJUNCTIONS STANCE

THE DOLLAR IS DECLINING.” POSITIVE INDICATORS FROM THE SULAYMANIYAH STOCK EXCHANGE AFTER THE WAR ENDED.
On Tuesday, the official spokesperson for the Sulaymaniyah Stock Exchange, Koran Jabbar, linked the decline in the dollar exchange rate in Iraq to the announcement of a halt to the regional war between Iran and Israel. He stressed that any provocations or mutual escalation between regional parties could lead to slight fluctuations in exchange rates.
“The decline in tensions in the region and the emergence of signs of understandings between Iran and the United States have directly impacted the dollar exchange rate in the Iraqi market, which has dropped from 148,000 dinars to 142,000 dinars per 100 US dollars,” Jabbar told Shafaq News Agency.
Jabbar explained that “the recent decline in the exchange rate is linked to a number of political and economic factors, most notably the cessation of military escalation and the resumption of dialogue channels between Tehran and Washington. These changes have also boosted market confidence and led to a relative improvement in the value of the Iraqi dinar against the dollar.”
He added that “recent statements by US President Donald Trump have also contributed to supporting the Iranian currency,” explaining that “Iran, as one of the largest economies in the region, possesses a strong production infrastructure and has been able to build a self-sufficient economy since 1979, making it less vulnerable to collapse due to political and security tensions.”
The stock exchange spokesperson noted that “continued provocations or mutual escalation between regional parties may lead to minor fluctuations in exchange rates, but they are not expected to have a radical impact on monetary stability in Iraq or Iran in the near term.” He noted that “the current price of the dollar in the Iraqi market is acceptable and relatively stable, and is likely to continue unless severe geopolitical developments occur.”
He stressed the “need for a well-thought-out difference between the official dollar exchange rate approved by the Central Bank of Iraq and the market rate, as this plays a significant role in alleviating pressure on foreign exchange reserves and enhancing the effectiveness of financial trading mechanisms.”
The exchange rate of the US dollar against the Iraqi dinar witnessed a significant decline in the markets of Baghdad and Erbil on Tuesday evening, coinciding with the closing of the stock exchanges. The dollar exchange rate in Baghdad fell to 141,600 dinars for $100, compared to its morning level of 142,500 dinars. Prices also declined in Erbil, reaching 141,300 dinars for sale and 141,100 dinars for purchase for $100.

SUDANESE ADVISOR REVEALS THE SECRET OF PRICE STABILITY: THREE EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT TOOLS.
The Prime Minister’s financial and economic advisor, Mazhar Mohammed Salih, revealed the main reasons behind price stability in Iraq despite global economic challenges.
Saleh told Al-Furat News that: “Iraq enjoys a high level of price discipline, as the government has adopted three effective tools to manage the economic and price file in a precise and harmonious manner, represented by fiscal policy, direct support for goods and services, and coordinated management between state institutions.”
He explained that “fiscal policy, in particular, contributes to supporting prices through the general budget by a percentage exceeding 13% of the gross domestic product, which is one of the highest support rates in the world,” indicating that this “is positively reflected in the general price level and contributes to a decline in annual inflation growth rates.”
Saleh pointed out that “this support includes vital areas that affect the lives of citizens, including fuel subsidies, support for farmers, as well as other forms of support in the food and medicine basket and basic government services.”

AL-SUDANI: “MADE IN IRAQ” IS A NATIONAL PROJECT WE ARE COUNTING ON.
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani inaugurated, on Wednesday, the Construction Cooperation Center (Construction Basket), which was implemented by the General Company for Construction Materials Trade at the Ministry of Trade, in partnership with the private sector.
During the opening ceremony, Al-Sudani emphasized that the project contributes to providing building materials at competitive prices and convenient installments to citizens, particularly targeted groups such as retirees, those covered by the social security network, martyrs’ families, and employees.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Ministry of Trade and those behind the project, considering the “Made in Iraq” concept a working method for restoring prestige to national industry, given the “real revolution” the construction sector is witnessing, both through state projects and at the investment level. Al-Sudani directed a coordination workshop to be held among relevant authorities to establish a mechanism enabling citizens to obtain loans and building permits, while also securing the construction materials they need to build a home.
He pointed out that the government has adopted a cooperative approach, with public sector participation, to control commodity prices, starting with food items through the “hypermarket” project, and now in the construction sector through the “construction basket.”
He explained that the project provides construction materials in accordance with Iraqi standard specifications and supports housing projects by granting investment licenses for approximately one million housing units, in addition to initiatives by the Housing Fund and the Real Estate Bank.
He explained that sovereign guarantees for the private sector focused on industrial sectors, with facilities for investors in constructing various factories. He emphasized the continuation of work with the Federation of Industries and Contractors, and the empowerment of the private sector as a partner in meeting market needs and providing job opportunities.
Al-Sudani concluded by pointing out the need to extend this experience to other governorates, starting with Nineveh and Basra.

ECONOMIST: TECHNOLOGY HAS TRIUMPHED… 12 DAYS THAT RESHAPED THE MIDDLE EAST
Economic expert Munar Al-Abidi said on Tuesday that the sole victor in the twelve-day battle was technology. It tipped the scales of the conflict, granted superiority, and whoever possessed it possessed the initiative and the ability to persevere and endure.
Al-Abidi stated in a blog post that in just twelve days, the face of the Middle East has changed in ways not seen in half a century, and may never be the same again.
It was not just a few days of escalation or tension, but a watershed moment that redrawn the map of influence and the balance of power in the region, and forced everyone—countries and peoples alike—to reconsider their positions, their alliances, and the way in which nations should be rebuilt.
He added, “These days have proven that no one emerges victorious from battles that rely less on reason than on emotions. The only victor in the twelve-day battle was technology; it tipped the balance of the conflict, it granted superiority, and whoever possessed it possessed the initiative and the ability to persevere and endure.”
The message is clear: It is no longer enough to raise slogans or feed our people with wishes. What we need today, Al-Obaidi said, more than ever is to rebuild our nations on the foundations of science, knowledge, and culture, to leave the arenas of futile conflict and the circles of internal division, and to believe in hard work as the only path to salvation and progress.
He continued, “These few days have held for us a true mirror in which we see our image clearly: Who are we? Where do we stand? What is our position in the new Middle East, which is now being reshaped by ideas and visions completely different from those that have dominated the region over the past five decades? It is a call to awaken, to understand the transformations around us, and to begin, with seriousness and awareness, to establish strong homelands that will not be broken by the winds of change.”

The Federal Integrity Commission announced, on Tuesday (June 24, 2025), Iraq’s accession to the “Beijing Clean Silk Road Initiative,” indicating that this comes in implementation of Article (3/6) of the Memorandum of Understanding concluded between the Commission and the National Oversight Commission of the People’s Republic of China.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the Commission stated that “the cooperation and coordination between the Commission and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Baghdad culminated in joining the initiative after completing the procedures,” explaining that this will contribute to strengthening international relations and highlighting the Commission’s efforts, endeavors, activities, and achievements in the field of combating corruption. It noted the confirmation of the National Oversight Commission of the People’s Republic of China of its readiness to enhance cooperation and joint work with the Commission in the field of combating corruption and law enforcement, to build a Clean Silk Road.

The Commission added that the initiative calls for the signing of bilateral treaties on extradition and mutual legal assistance, based on international agreements, and the exchange of information and expertise between relevant anti-corruption agencies. It also calls for launching highly effective anti-corruption cooperation, promoting self-discipline, legal awareness, and a sense of responsibility, and enacting laws to combat corruption and combat bribery, with the aim of creating a sound relationship between governments and companies.

TRUMP: US, IRANIAN OFFICIALS TO TALK NEXT WEEK WITH WAR OVER
President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that U.S. and Iranian officials will talk next week, continuing a dialogue that was interrupted by the recent war between Israel and Tehran, while a fragile ceasefire appeared to be holding.
“I’ll tell you what, we’re going to talk with them next week, with Iran. We may sign an agreement, I don’t know,” Trump told a press conference during the NATO summit in the Netherlands. Trump said he wasn’t particularly interested in restarting negotiations with Iran, insisting that U.S. strikes had destroyed its nuclear program.
“The way I look at it, they fought, the war is done,” he said. Iran has not acknowledged any talks taking place next week, though U.S. Mideast envoy Steve Witkoff has said there has been direct and indirect communication between the countries.
The fragile ceasefire gave rise to cautious hope for longer-term peace even as Tehran insisted it will not give up its nuclear program.
Trump, who helped negotiate the ceasefire that took hold on Tuesday, the 12th day of the war, earlier told reporters at a NATO summit it was going “very well,” adding that Iran was “not going to have a bomb and they’re not going to enrich.”
Iran has insisted, however, that it will not give up its nuclear program. In a vote underscoring the tough path ahead, its parliament agreed to fast-track a proposal that would effectively stop the country’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the U.N. watchdog that has monitored the program for years.
Ahead of the vote, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf criticized the IAEA for having “refused to even pretend to condemn the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities” that the United States carried out on Sunday.
“For this reason, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran will suspend cooperation with the IAEA until security of nuclear facilities is ensured, and Iran’s peaceful nuclear program will move forward at a faster pace,” Qalibaf told lawmakers. IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said he had already written to Iran to discuss resuming inspections of their nuclear facilities. Among other things, Iran claims to have moved its highly enriched uranium ahead of the U.S. strikes, and Grossi said his inspectors need to reassess the country’s stockpiles.
“We need to return,” he said. “We need to engage.”
French President Emmanuel Macron, whose country was part of the 2015 deal with Iran that restricted its nuclear program but began unraveling after Trump pulled the U.S. out in his first term, said he hoped Tehran would come back to the table.
Iran has long maintained that its nuclear program was peaceful, and U.S. intelligence agencies have assessed that Tehran is not actively pursuing a bomb. However, Israeli leaders have argued that Iran could quickly assemble a nuclear weapon.
Israel is widely believed to be the only Middle Eastern country with nuclear weapons, which it has never acknowledged. The Israel Atomic Energy Commission said its assessment was that the U.S. and Israeli strikes have “set back Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons by many years.” It did not give evidence to back up its claim.
The U.S. strikes hit three Iranian nuclear sites, which Trump said “completely and fully obliterated” the country’s nuclear program. At the NATO summit, when asked about a U.S. intelligence report that found Iran’s nuclear program has been set back only a few months, Trump scoffed and said it would at least take “years” to rebuild.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Esmail Baghaei, confirmed that the strikes by U.S. B-2 bombers using bunker buster bombs had caused significant damage.
“Our nuclear installations have been badly damaged, that’s for sure,” he told Al Jazeera on Wednesday, while refusing to go into detail.
He seemed to suggest Iran might not shut out IAEA inspectors for good, noting that the bill before parliament only talks of suspending work with the agency, not ending it. He also insisted Iran has the right to pursue a nuclear energy program.
“Iran is determined to preserve that right under any circumstances,” he said.
Witkoff said on Fox News late on Tuesday that Israel and the U.S. had achieved their objective of “the total destruction of the enrichment capacity” in Iran, and Iran’s prerequisite for talks — that Israel end its campaign — had been fulfilled.
“The proof is in the pudding,” he said. “No one’s shooting at each other. It’s over.”
Grossi said he could not speculate on how bad the damage was but that Iran’s nuclear capabilities were well known.
“The technical knowledge is there, and the industrial capacity is there,” he said. “That no one can deny, so we need to work together with them.”
An Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations, said the ceasefire agreement with Iran amounted to “quiet for quiet,” with no further understandings about Iran’s nuclear program going ahead. In the Fox News interview, Witkoff said Trump is now looking to land “a comprehensive peace agreement that goes beyond even the ceasefire.” “We’re already talking to each other, not just directly but also through interlocutors,” Witkoff said, adding that the conversations were promising and “we’re hopeful that we can have a long-term peace agreement.”
However, Baghaei, the Iranian spokesman, said Washington had “torpedoed diplomacy” with its attacks on nuclear sites and that while Iran in principle was always open to talks, national security was the priority. “We have to make sure whether the other parties are really serious when they’re talking about diplomacy, or is it again part of their tactics to make more problems for the region and for my country,” he said.
China, a close Iranian partner and major buyer of Iranian oil, said it hoped a “lasting and effective ceasefire can be achieved so as to promote” peace and stability in the region. China has blamed Israel for starting the war and destabilizing the region.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun told reporters that China is willing to “inject positive factors to safeguard peace and stability in the Middle East.”
Grossi said Iran and the international community should seize the opportunity of the ceasefire for a long-term diplomatic solution.
“Out of the … bad things that military conflict brings, there’s also now a possibility, an opening,” he said. “We shouldn’t miss that opportunity.” During the war with Israel, Iran executed several prisoners accused of spying for Israel, sparking fears from activists that it could conduct a wave of executions after the conflict ends.
It hanged three more prisoners on spying charges on Wednesday, bringing the total number of executions for espionage to six since June 16. Iran identified the three as Azad Shojaei, Edris Aali and Iraqi national Rasoul Ahmad Rasoul.
The hangings took place at Urmia Prison in West Azerbaijan, Iran’s most northwestern province. State-run IRNA cited Iran’s judiciary for the news, saying the men had been accused of bringing “assassination equipment” into the country. During the 12-day war, at least 28 people were killed in Israel and more than 1,000 wounded, according to officials.
Tehran on Tuesday put the death toll in Iran at 606, with 5,332 people wounded. The Washington-based Human Rights Activists group released figures Wednesday suggesting Israeli strikes on Iran had killed at least 1,054 and wounded 4,476.
The group, which has provided detailed casualty figures from multiple rounds of unrest in Iran, said 417 of those killed were civilians and 318 were security forces.
During the war, Israeli airstrikes also targeted Iran’s top military leadership and other sites associated with its ruling theocracy.
With the ceasefire, Iranians are trying to return to their normal lives. State media described heavy traffic around the Caspian Sea and other rural areas outside of the capital, Tehran, as people began returning to the city.

MF: IRAQ HAS MADE PROGRESS IN TRANSITIONING TO A NEW SYSTEM FOR FINANCING FOREIGN TRADE.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission considered that the Central Bank of Iraq has achieved “significant progress” by transitioning to a new system for financing foreign trade.
A statement issued by the bank quoted the mission as confirming that “the Central Bank of Iraq has made progress in absorbing excess liquidity by increasing the issuance of short-term debt instruments (central bank transfers and Islamic certificates of deposit), adjusting subscription limits for banks in central bank auctions, and improving liquidity forecasting tools and practices.”
The statement added, “The mission commended the Central Bank of Iraq’s efforts to successfully transition to the new trade finance system,” noting that commercial banks now process trade finance transactions entirely through their relationships with correspondent banks.
According to the mission, “the Central Bank of Iraq has made significant progress by transitioning to a new system for financing foreign trade through correspondent banking channels, instead of relying on the daily dollar auction.”
According to the statement, the mission indicated that “this development has contributed to enhancing banks’ compliance with international transparency requirements, such as OFAC regulations and others, and improving their relationships with global correspondent banks.”
The statement added that this step resulted in narrowing the gap between the official dollar exchange rate and its parallel exchange rate, indicating relative success in curbing illegal speculation and reducing currency leakage.
The statement continued, citing the IMF mission, that “the methodology for managing foreign exchange has become more effective than before, especially with the Central Bank of Iraq continuing to implement complementary measures such as requiring traders to submit genuine import invoices and simplifying procedures for obtaining hard currency for legitimate importers.”

ISRAEL CONDUCTED A TWO-WEEK AIR CAMPAIGN
Israel conducted a two-week air campaign with the objective of degrading, destroying and removing the threat of Iran’s nuclear program.
Israel also pursued two supporting objectives to limit Iranian retaliation and provide itself with an offramp.Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that “Operation Rising Lion” achieved all of Israel’s war aims “and much more.” Israel described Iran’s nuclear program as an existential threat to Israel and stated that it would not allow Iran to weaponize its program. Israel achieved its objectives vis-a-vis the nuclear program by destroying nuclear facilities and enrichment capacity with US support and killing key nuclear scientists who were instrumental in the development and weaponization of the program. The Israeli campaign, supported by US strikes, “effectively destroyed” Iran’s enrichment capacity, though stockpiles of various amounts of enriched uranium remain. Iran’s ability to enrich these to weapons grade uranium is complicated by the destruction of most of Iran’s centrifuges and the loss of many nuclear scientists. There is more information about the status of the nuclear program below.
Israel supported this main line of effort by conducting a campaign designed to prevent Iran from conducting effective retaliatory strikes on Israel by degrading its ballistic missile capabilities. Iran originally planned to launch 1,000 ballistic missiles in response to Israeli strikes on Iran, but Israeli strikes forced it to fire much fewer (more on the status of the missile forces below). Iranian ballistic missile strikes would have targeted Israeli military, intelligence, and political institutions that enabled Israeli operations. These strikes could have also caused major Israeli casualties, which would have been unacceptable for many Israelis. Israeli airstrikes on Iran’s ballistic missile program destroyed Iranian capabilities and forced Iran to launch fewer and smaller attacks on Israel, most of which were intercepted by the IDF.
Israel pursued a second supporting effort to compel Iran to accept a ceasefire on Israeli terms by creating the perception of a credible existential threat to the Iranian regime. Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Katz directed the IDF on June 20 to “intensify” strikes on Iranian institutions that support regime stability. The Iranian regime has maintained social control by violently cracking down on protests and other expressions of popular anti-regime sentiment through internal security organizations. Israeli officials suggested that these airstrikes could create conditions which the Iranian population could exploit to overthrow the regime. A series of strikes designed to demonstrate a credible threat to the regime’s stability could be expanded or contracted depending on how the regime responded and Israel’s desire for a ceasefire. Israel could have calculated that the Iranian regime’s overwhelming interest in ensuring regime survival could compel it to agree to a ceasefire.
The limited nature of strikes against internal security institutions suggests that the IDF sought to demonstrate a credible threat to regime stability rather than topple or meaningfully destabilize the regime. A focused, well-designed regime destabilization campaign would have systematically destroyed IRGC provincial and district-level headquarters while simultaneously destroying the Iranian Law Enforcement Command’s infrastructure and assets across the country. Israel struck these targets, but it only did so in Tehran and did not do so systematically even in Tehran. Israel, given its air superiority over Iran, could have presumably destroyed these targets if needed, which indicates that the IDF made a deliberate choice not to systematically target Iranian internal security assets. The IDF did systematically target missile and nuclear facilities, in contrast.
Key Takeaways:
- Israel pursued a campaign to destroy Iran’s nuclear program and with US support was largely successful in doing so. Israel also pursued two supporting lines of effort to limit Iran’s retaliation and create an off-ramp by creating conditions that would pressure Iran into terminating the conflict. Israel pressured Iran by creating a credible threat of regime destabilization.
- The limited nature of strikes against internal security institutions suggests that the IDF sought to demonstrate a credible threat to regime stability rather than topple or meaningfully destabilize the regime. A focused, well-designed regime destabilization campaign would have systematically destroyed regime institutions, which did not happen.
- Iran’s enrichment capabilities have been “effectively destroyed,” according to the Institute for Science and International Security. Iran still retains stockpiles of enriched uranium, but its ability to enrich these stockpiles further will be complicated by the loss of so many centrifuges and facilities.
- Iran’s inability to accurately strike military or energy infrastructure highlights the limited accuracy of its ballistic missiles. The high Israeli intercept rate made it even more difficult for Iran to accurately target key Israeli infrastructure. Israel nonetheless faced sustained missile attacks against key population centers that was unprecedented in the October 7 War.

THE WAR HIGHLIGHTED THE WEAKNESS OF THE IRAQI ECONOMY AND REVEALED ITS DEPENDENCE ON IRAN.
Everything is imported from it, from food, medicine, and electricity to iron, gas, and electrical appliances, and its markets are controlled by monopolists and driven by fear.
Any outbreak of unrest in the eastern region translates directly into sudden price hikes, commodity shortages, and rumors that tremble markets. To what extent did the recent war reveal the depth of Iraq’s economic dependence on Iran?
Their war has starved us,” says Abu Sajad, reaching for an empty shelf in the Shorja market in central Baghdad. “The battle between Israel and Iran began just days ago, but its flames quickly reached our tables. Prices skyrocketed, especially for Iranian goods, as they constitute almost the entire market. Suddenly, they started saying:
The warehouses are almost empty, and prices are now in the hands of monopolists.”
More than ten days have passed since the escalation of the confrontation between Israel and Iran, and even before the missiles whizzed across the skies of Iraq , the hearts of citizens were filled with fear in a country that imports almost everything from Iran: food, medicine, electricity, and even the hot air that blows through fans. Thus, any outbreak of unrest in the eastern region translates directly into sudden prices, shortages of goods, and rumors that tremble the markets.
With no precise government data available in the early days, official statements began to hint at “taking precautions,” then at “tightening controls.” Last Wednesday, the Ministry of Commerce announced a comprehensive plan to enhance food security in the country against the backdrop of regional tensions.
Ministry spokesman Mohammed Hanoun said, “The purpose of announcing the plan is to enhance the state’s ability to confront any potential disruptions to food supplies and ensure the continuity of the supply of essential commodities without interruption or excessive price increases.”
This war, though far from its borders, is a reflection of everything that is fragile within Iraq: a deep dependence on foreign powers, the absence of national production strategies, and markets driven more by fear than politics.
Dependence accumulates failure
Economic analyst Nawar Al-Saadi describes the Iraqi market scene as “a reflection of a systematic deficit that is strangely dependent on the skills and labor of Iran.” He explains, “When markets suffocate, the question of local alternatives reveals the depth of this dependency. Iraq relies on Iran for everything daily and essential: food, electricity, medicine, and building materials. This is a fragility that will one day break, creating wreckage for everyone.”
He added to The Independent Arabia, “The most striking paradox emerged in the summer of 2023, when the Hawizeh Marsh in southern Iraq witnessed widespread fish die-offs due to declining water levels. Activists took to the streets demanding that the government release additional water to save the fish stock, especially since the marsh is a source of livelihood for thousands of families. But nothing was achieved: no response, no plan, and no acknowledgment.”
The result, according to Al-Saadi, was that just weeks after the fish deaths, the Ministry of Agriculture announced its intention to import quantities of fish from Iran to cover the market shortage. In a statement published in September 2023, the ministry said it was seeking to “control fish prices due to the scarcity,” without any reference to the environmental tragedy that preceded the decision, or to the victims among the local fishermen whose nets died before their fish. The decision was made as if nothing had happened, without any prior investigation into the causes of the deaths, any support for those affected, or even a review of the water policies that had brought the marshes to this point.
“We are a country that neglects what it has and then buys it back from another neighbor,” says Al-Saadi, adding, “It wasn’t just fish. It was also tomatoes, eggs, dairy, and even palm trees. They all died silently, replaced with a new import bill, without us asking: Why? Who is responsible?”
Imports everything
Sectors collapse, often in the form of chronic neglect. Disasters are gradual, followed by a delayed response, and sometimes no response at all. Over the past years, Iraq has not missed any opportunity for decline without exploiting it to further increase its dependence. Instead of reforming its industrial and food sectors, it has turned to Iranian markets, searching for what can be produced there and purchased there.
The economic analyst says that Iranian imports have weakened Iraq’s ability to build its private sector. Instead of developing dairy factories, food processing plants, and national farms, the state has adopted a commercial dependency on one party, losing both paths: production and food sovereignty.
Al-Saadi continues, “There is a long-term link between weak domestic production and growing reliance on Iranian imports. This reliance has deprived Iraq of opportunities to rebuild its private sector, particularly the food and agricultural industries.”
“Official institutions have stuck to their political and economic options and decided to postpone the solution. Therefore, when the government talks about supporting local products, the recipients do not trust their national products much due to the lack of focus on them and sometimes because of their poor quality compared to those imported from abroad,” Al-Saadi believes. He emphasizes that no matter how hard factories try to produce, they operate at half capacity, or sometimes less, because the market is already reserved for imported goods. Local products face unfair competition in terms of prices, support, and distribution networks. With every new shipment that passes through the border crossings, the chances of survival of dozens of small factories diminish.
Dominance by numbers
According to Mohammad Reza Bani-Taba, spokesperson for the Iranian Dairy Industries Association, Iranian dairy products reached 39 countries during the first half of this year, with Iraq being the top destination in terms of revenue, accounting for 58 percent of the value and 30.5 percent of the total volume of exports. Furthermore, 80 percent of Iran’s dairy exports abroad go to Iraq, followed by Pakistan and Afghanistan, according to the Iranian Industrial Association.
Iranian control is not limited to the food sector alone. Iraq is a major importer of non-oil goods from Iran, valued at approximately $20 billion annually. In the first months of this year alone—March and May—Iraq’s imports reached $1.5 billion, according to Iranian Customs data.
Specifically, Iran’s dairy exports reached $381 million during the same period, with a weight of 281,000 tons, representing a 16.4 percent increase in value and a 17.3 percent increase in volume compared to the previous year.
Looking at Iraqi data, the Central Bank notes that Iraqi imports increased by 158.1 percent during the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, with consumer goods rising by 93 percent, compared to a slight decline in petroleum product imports.
In just eight months, Iranian exports to Iraq reached nearly $8 billion, according to Iranian foreign trade reports, while just one month—between September 22 and October 21, 2024—set a record high of $2.78 billion.
Iraq’s shy exports
M.S., a source from the Iraqi Ministry of Trade who preferred to remain anonymous, said that more than 5,600 factories in Iraq have been reopened over the past two years as part of a government program to revive local production in various sectors, including food processing, building materials, and medicine. However, these were barely enough to meet market demand. Some were operating below capacity due to persistent market pressures on local factories.
As a result of popular fears of commodity shortages due to the tense situation in Iran, the Iraqi Ministry of Trade confirmed that its strategic stock of grains and wheat is sufficient to cover domestic consumption for six months, and that the country has achieved self-sufficiency in wheat for three years. “The state has sufficient supplies for some products, but this is not enough to sustain the production market. The slightest crisis reveals this, causing prices to rise and traders to exploit the situation to find immediate alternatives. Otherwise, we will enter a cycle of silent inflation,” the source explained.
According to the OEC platform, Iraq’s total exports to Iran in 2022 were estimated at approximately $457 million, mostly grains and mineral ores, compared to $7.34 billion in revenue from Iranian imports throughout the same year.
Iraq imported a third of Iran’s agricultural and food exports in the nine months, approximately $1.405 billion out of a total of $4.312 billion. This figure was nearly the highest in any year of Iraqi-Iranian trade cooperation.
Since 2003, with the fall of the former regime, relations between Iraq and Iran began to improve. However, the true turning point came in 2005, when Baghdad and Tehran concluded their first official agreements for the supply of gas and electricity, as part of a plan aimed at supporting Iraq’s infrastructure, which had been devastated by the war of the previous years.
Since then, economic cooperation has flourished significantly. Over the past two decades, Iranian exports to Iraq have increased fifteenfold, from approximately $600 million in 2003 to more than $10 billion in a single year.
What does Iraq import?
Among all of Iraq’s imports from Iran, raw iron tops the list. Raw iron bar imports alone amounted to approximately $820 million in 2022, according to data from the International Trade Observatory. This comes at a time when the local market is experiencing weak production of raw materials.
Next comes liquefied natural gas, whose imports from Iran amounted to approximately $795 million. This leaves Iraq acutely exposed to the energy situation, especially since more than 60 percent of its power plants run on Iranian gas, according to official reports.
Imports are not limited to infrastructure and energy. Iraq also imports huge quantities of ceramics and unglazed tiles used in paving and construction. In the field of agriculture and food, Iran appears to be its primary partner. Iranian reports indicate that Iraq was the primary destination for Iranian fruits and vegetables last year, including tomatoes, apples, and watermelons, products that sometimes constitute more than 30 percent of Iran’s agricultural exports.
At the level of daily consumption, the Iraqi market is almost entirely devoid of household electrical appliances, air conditioners, car tires, and spare parts imported from Iran. These are marketed as a “medium-cost, medium-quality” option, but they impose a near-exclusive presence in the absence of a competitive domestic industry.
Iranian gas… a time bomb
According to economic analyst Amjad Al-Ghazi, all imports from Iran are feasible and capable of substitution, but the time bomb that will have disastrous consequences for the people and the government itself is gas imports. He explained, “For decades, Iranian gas has been the heart of Iraqi power plants, especially during the summer, when energy demand increases significantly. But this dependency has caused significant fragility in power generation systems and has become a threat to the viability of electricity in the country.”
He added to The Independent Arabia, “In March 2024, a five-year agreement was signed granting Iran the right to supply Iraq with up to 50 million cubic meters of gas per day, at an annual cost of between $4 and $5 billion. This deal not only did not help the country compensate for its lack of local infrastructure, but it also placed its energy security at the mercy of regional crises.”
According to Electricity Minister Ziyad Ali Fadhil, Iraq relies on Iranian gas for approximately 40–60 percent of its total electricity generation. Any disruption equates to a loss of 3,500–8,000 megawatts of generated power, immediately leading to widespread blackouts and social repercussions. In March and May 2025, Iran reduced supply to approximately 20 million cubic meters per day—less than half—contributing to a loss of approximately 5,500 megawatts in national electricity generation, directly impacting areas including Baghdad and the Middle Euphrates. Supply has been cut several times due to internal pressure or undisclosed reasons, prompting Baghdad to resort to importing emergency fuel such as diesel and experimenting with floating power plants to mitigate the risks.
The shortcomings in the management of the energy production system have been evident for years, from power plants to the transmission networks that deliver electricity to population centers, all the way to the final distribution networks for consumers. Al-Ghazi says that the ministry had planned to increase production capacity to 27,000 megawatts by the summer of 2025, but the fuel shortage thwarted this plan, causing the actual capacity to fall below 23,000 megawatts. Iraq’s power plants rely on a mix of domestic and imported gas, and without Iranian gas, the system would effectively cease to function.
On June 13, 2025, Israel launched strikes on Iranian energy facilities, described as “targeting the giant South Pars gas field,” Phase 14 of the offshore field, which constitutes a key component of Iran’s internal and external gas supplies. These strikes shut down production of approximately 12 million cubic meters per day from the field, meaning a reduction in gas export capacity. Al-Ghazi says, “If the strikes continue, or if missiles are fired at South Pars or regional gas facilities again, or if any technical failure occurs, the strike could cost Iraq thousands of megawatts, exposing it to severe power outages, followed by a dark summer that exposes the fragility of the idea of full imports.”

AFTER THE TECHNICAL DELEGATION, A POLITICAL DELEGATION FROM BAGHDAD AWAITS ARRIVAL IN ERBIL TO RESOLVE OUTSTANDING ISSUES.
government political delegation from Baghdad is scheduled to visit Erbil, following the arrival of a first technical delegation from the capital to the Kurdistan Region on Thursday.
A Jebel correspondent reported on Saturday that the “political delegation” could arrive in Erbil at any time. A well-informed source in Baghdad said the delegation would arrive to reach final agreements on the Kurdistan Region’s financial dues, the issue of employee salaries, and the resumption of oil exports from the Kurdistan Region.
Last Thursday evening, a technical delegation representing the federal government in Baghdad arrived in Erbil and met with a similar delegation from the region to discuss the salary issue and its resolution, as well as the resumption of oil exports from the region to the world. According to information obtained by Al-Jibal, the meetings yielded positive results, particularly regarding the satisfaction of the region’s oil-producing companies regarding the resumption of oil exports.
A senior government political delegation from Baghdad is scheduled to arrive in Erbil this week, with the authority to finalize agreements on salaries and the resumption of oil exports, a Jabal correspondent reported, citing an informed source.
The source did not disclose the size of the delegation, but indicated that it is “a large delegation, and will be headed by the Iraqi government. It is scheduled to meet with Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Minister of Finance and Natural Resources Awat Sheikh Janab to make crucial decisions on the two issues.”
Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani stated at a press conference last Thursday afternoon that the issue of employee salaries in the region was moving toward a solution, and that an authorized delegation would arrive from Baghdad to Erbil within two days to reach an agreement on the matter.
The technical delegation in Erbil includes representatives from the Supreme Economic Council, the Undersecretary of the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, the Iraqi Board of Supreme Audit, and representatives from SOMO and North Oil.

SWIFT: WASHINGTON’S WEAPON FOR BLACKMAILING COUNTRIES AND STRANGLING IRAQ
Economic expert, Faleh Al-Zubaidi, confirmed today, Saturday, that the United States of America is using the global financial transfer system “SWIFT” as a tool for economic pressure on countries that do not align with its interests.
He pointed out that Iraq has become one of the countries subjected to such pressures aimed at pushing Washington’s agendas in the region.
Al-Zubaidi told Al-Maalouma, “SWIFT is an international financial network used to transfer funds between banks around the world. It is effectively subject to direct American control, which makes it a political tool in Washington’s hands to punish governments that reject its policies.”
He added, “The United States has used this system to punish a number of countries, such as Russia, Iran, and China, by denying them access to international financial transactions,” noting that “Iraq today suffers from strict restrictions imposed by Washington through this system, in an attempt to pressure the Iraqi government to advance its interests.”
Al-Zubaidi explained that “US dominance over SWIFT represents a clear violation of international economic standards and contradicts the principle of neutrality in financial transactions,” warning that “the continuation of this situation gives Washington the upper hand in controlling Iraqi financial decisions, threatening the country’s economic security.”
It is noteworthy that MP Haider Al-Salami stressed that the real and radical solution to this crisis lies in establishing a national financial system completely independent of the global financial transfer system (SWIFT), including a bank and an electronic payment entity, operating under the supervision of the Iraqi state and with its full autonomy, similar to what countries such as Russia, Iran and China have taken to protect their financial systems from Western domination.

US OFFICIALS TOLD WESTERN MEDIA THAT IRANIAN OFFICIALS SAID IN INTERCEPTED COMMUNICATIONS THAT THE US STRIKES ON IRAN’S NUCLEAR PROGRAM
US officials told Western media that Iranian officials said in intercepted communications that the US strikes on Iran’s nuclear program were “less devastating” than anticipated, which is inconsistent with previous open-source reporting and the nature of the strikes. Four unspecified US officials familiar with US intelligence said that the intercepted communication included Iranian officials speculating as to why the US airstrikes were not as destructive and extensive as they anticipated. The Western media report did not clarify what the Iranian officials ”anticipated,” which makes it challenging to understand the relative degree of damage Iran sustained due to the relative nature of the statement. It is also unclear when the US intelligence community collected this intelligence, but separate Israeli intelligence suggested that Iranian military officials have been giving false situation reports and downplaying the extent of damage to Iran’s political leadership, however. Signals intelligence collected within a day or two of the strike would presumably be less reliable than intelligence collected a week or more after the strike. It is unlikely that any Iranian officials could have executed a complete battle damage assessment within 48 hours because doing so would require seeing the inside of the facility, and all the known access points had collapsed. The Institute for Science and International Security also previously assessed that twelve 30,000lb bombs penetrated Fordow and generated a blast wave that would have destroyed the centrifuges enriching uranium at Fordow. Even small vibrations can destroy centrifuges.
Key Takeaways:
- A top Iranian official cast doubt on the likelihood of US-Iran talks soon. The official, who was previously involved in negotiations, said Iran “insist[s]” on enriching uranium.
- US officials told Western media that Iranian officials said in intercepted communications that the US strikes on Iran’s nuclear program were “less devastating” than anticipated, which is inconsistent with previous open-source reporting and the nature of the strikes. It is also unclear what the Iranian officials ”anticipated,” which makes it challenging to understand the relative degree of damage Iran sustained due to the relative nature of the statement.
A prominent Iranian cleric issued a religious ruling that states individuals who threaten Iranian leadership and religious authority are punishable by death. This cleric previously met with a reformist former Iranian president, who attempted to sideline the supreme leader at least temporarily, and the ruling may be intended to demonstrate loyalty to the supreme leader.
