ABOUT THE NEWSLETTER:

April 8, 2025 Mnt Goat News Brief

Guten Tag everyone:

I have some “WOW!” news for you today. Not the RV yet, but we see this news is leading us to it shortly. The writing is on the wall.

GIVE A GIFT TO MNT GOAT

I decided to allow everyone to give a Free-will GIFT to Mnt Goat on PayPal if you so desire. Here is the link below.

Since 2013, I have taken my own time from my gasthaus business to research and document findings about the revaluation and reinstatement of the Iraqi dinar. At this time more than ever I do not need to spend my time doing all this. My time is hard to find, as I have to hold down two formal jobs already due to COVID just to keep the business going. So, I do it out of charity and love with the understanding that all of us do NOT have the time to go do our own research. We are busy with our jobs, our daily lives and raising our children. As I am saying this take time and is like a third job.

I recommend $10 dollars a month or whatever you can afford. Do you realize I write eight (8) Newsletters every month. I have to investigate the news and try to pull out the FACTS, then pull off the articles from Iraqi news channels, translate them, talk to my contact in Iraq and then write and publish the Newsletter. Do you think perhaps a little gift might show some appreciation for all this hard work? Just asking…. Still only a hand full of readers help out each month. Enough said….. The future of the Newsletter depends upon you.

Let’s all try to chip in!

STATUS OF THE RV

I have to say that the pace of change and reform for the U.S. is overflowing now into Iraq as the new U.S. leadership takes shape on foreign policy. How many times have I said over this past decade that Nori Al Maliki and his gang of Iranian thugs must be dealt with? How many times have I said these Iranian backed militia stationed in Iraq must be dealt with?

It is now almost indescribable my feelings as to what is going on in Iraq and all the  wonderful changes happening that we prayed so hard for and so long.

So, let’s get into the news for this period.

No, the IQD did not move to FOREX as TNT Tony and other idiot “gurus” told their listeners would happen on this past Monday. Yes, this was for the thousandth time already they told them this. You would think maybe they might question their sanity and their sources telling these ridiculous stories?

In the news this period there seems to be two main themes based around:

1.the decline of Iranian influence in Iraq and

2.a new chapter in the Iraqi-American partnership with Iraq.

Let’s now take a look at the articles to back up each of these two main topics and what this is all going to mean for our coming reinstatement of the Iraqi dinar back to FOREX.

😊Starting with the article titled “IRAN-BACKED MILITIAS IN IRAQ ARE READY TO DISARM FOLLOWING TRUMP’S THREATS” we find that several of the Iran-backed militia groups operating in Iraq are set to demilitarize for the first time to avoid conflict with the US following President Trump’s threats to Tehran’s proxies.  Ten senior commanders and Iraqi officials urged the capital to begin the process of disarming and disbanding the militias operating in Iraq to avoid the worst-case scenario with the US.

“Trump is ready to take the war with us to worse levels, we know that, and we want to avoid such a bad scenario,” a commander of Kataeb Hezbollah, the most powerful Shiite militia operating in Iraq, told Reuters.

Do you know just how good this news really is? If you have been following my Newsletter blog all along you should realize we have been waiting for this kind of news since these Iranian militia from the Kud forces first entered Iraq in 2014 to fight ISIS. I always declared that these forces would be trouble and wondered why in hell Iraq chose them over U.S. forces. But if  you know anything about the past, They did so because the U.S. forces in 2011 under Obama had already pulled out and the U.S. Iraq would have to negotiate yet another status of forces agreement for U.S. troops to come back in. Was this all a setup and intentional? This all will soon be exposed.

The U.S. forces did come back into Iraq, but it was way after the Iranian militias had already taken hold in Iraq. Not a good situation and Iraq has been paying the price since. We have then witnessed the Iranian influence in the government, especially parliament and all the corruption and funneling of funds to Iran. Do you think the U.S. is going to approve the reinstatement of the IQD in this situation?

As listeners of the news we kept asking when will Nori al-Maliki get what is coming to him for all his crimes against the state and humanity too. He seemed untouchable and his influence, although limited today, still exists. We witnessed eight (8) years of his “do nothing” lame administration. Even today we still see small articles from his gang trying to bring descent to the policies of Al-Sudani. Oh, but he is sly and careful not to ruffle too many feathers too much these days because he knows his days are numbered. Well in today’s new we find this justice with Nori Al-Maliki is coming much sooner than most think.

If this isn’t a WOW! WOW! WOW! article I don’t what is….lol.. lol.. lol..

😊Then in another article titled “CALLS FOR “LIBERATING IRAQ” IN WASHINGTON: THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION’S VISION AND ESCALATION WITH IRAN”. Recently we learned about the Trump tariffs in the news and he called this “Liberation Day” for America. Now we find out more on just what president Trump’s policy is towards Iraq and Iraq too is going to have it’s “liberation”. I told you if we are just patient, it will all come out and so here is more of it now in the news. The article tells us that former Iraqi diplomat Ghazi Faisal confirmed on Saturday (April 5, 2025) that calls for the “liberation of Iraq” issued by US officials in Washington reflect the vision of the administration of US President Donald Trump for dealing with the situation in Iraq. If this isn’t a WOW! WOW! WOW! article I don’t know what is….lol.. lol.. lol.. Liberating Iraq from what? From or course Iran and also the associated corruption of the Obama/Biden era policies and forcing Iraq to be accountable and more importantly supporting them when they do. Remember too the Obama/Biden era politicians still must be held accountable for these illegal early exchanges of Iraqi dinar held in late 2012-early 2013. This also will be part of the liberation process for Iraq.

In a statement to Baghdad Today that “Republican Representative Wilson’s statements regarding the ‘liberation of Iraq’ project do not come out of nowhere, but rather represent the Trump administration’s strategy toward Iran, which the United States considers a ‘terrorist state’ and the world’s foremost sponsor of terrorism.”

He added, “The armed factions loyal to Iran have transformed into a parallel force to the official state in Iraq, strategically allied with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.”

He pointed out that “calls to ‘liberate Iraq’ could be a prelude to decisions and actions that Washington may take in the coming period, given the ongoing escalation between the United States and Iran, as all options remain open.”

😊Opps there are a couple more articles on this topic and one is titled “FACTIONS ENTER “ULTIMATUM C” AFTER THE “LIBERATION OF IRAQ” PROJECT FROM IRAN”. The

news of an “emergency government,” Al-Sudani speaks of conspiracies. A “C-Warning” was issued to armed factions and groups in Iraq as tensions escalated between Tehran and Washington. These groups have been conducting “evacuations” for months, according to informed sources, while their leaders have disappeared, even down to the third line. The “factions” had completely halted their activities at the end of last November, with the truce between Israel and Hezbollah taking effect.
With the Pentagon sending additional reinforcements to the Middle East, including an aircraft carrier and a squadron of fighter jets, and the continued strikes on the Houthis and the threat to Iran, informed sources told Al-Mada that “the factions took the highest precautions in five years, following the killing of Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Forces.”

😊The other article is titled “IRAN’S SURPRISE: WITHDRAWING ITS FORCES FROM YEMEN AND ABANDONING THE HOUTHIS”. Iran has ordered the withdrawal of its military personnel from Yemen, abandoning its Houthi allies , as the United States escalates its campaign of airstrikes against the rebel group. A senior Iranian official told the British newspaper The Telegraph that this move aims to avoid a direct confrontation with the United States if an Iranian soldier is killed. Iran is scaling back its strategy of supporting a network of regional proxies in order to focus on direct threats from the United States. The source said that Tehran’s primary concern is US President Donald Trump and how to deal with him.

So, we can now more clearly see the stance of the American president Trump towards Iran which is also being reflected in the policies towards Iraq. How did Iraq ever get itself mixed up so much with Iran? I believe that part of this comes from the U.S. abandoning Iraq at such an early stage of their newly found democracy. The “big brother” did not do its job and so we as investors had to wait this long for any real progress. However since 2023 have witnessed beyond my imagination so much progress.

Oh, yes more good news. The reform progress continues and it is also this second part of our theme in the articles of today that is going to facilitate getting the reinstatement. We learned in the past that Iraq is purchasing electricity and natural gas from Iran. The U.S. has said they no longer will consider a waiver on these purchases. We learn today the efforts to combat these two resources by Iraq.

😊This next article titled “AL-SUDANI’S ADVISOR TALKS ABOUT A “NEW CHAPTER” WITH WASHINGTON AND THE AGENDA OF A US DELEGATION IN IRAQ SOON.” According to Farhad Alaaldin, the Iraqi Prime Minister’s advisor for foreign affairs, spoke about a “new chapter in the Iraqi-American partnership.” He also touched on a “promising” opportunity for American companies specializing in the manufacture of floating platforms and the supply of liquefied natural gas to participate effectively in Iraq.

So, let’s talk more about American companies from this article: This visit is likely to result in the signing of an unprecedented agreement between General Electric and the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity, aiming to produce highly efficient power bridging the gap in electricity demand away from Iran. Parallel efforts to address this challenge to complete the Gulf Electricity Interconnection Project, which aims to deliver electricity from the electric grid to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries via the State of Kuwait by 2025. Yes, this year not years down the road.

Also, Iraq’s natural gas sector also highlights the significant opportunities available to advance the country’s energy development. Huge quantities of associated gas are still being flared daily, around the clock, due to weak infrastructure and the urgent need for advanced international expertise in processing and exploiting this vital resource. In this context, American companies possess advanced technical and technological capabilities, making them ideal partners in this field.  On March 4, Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani announced that the ministry is in the process of importing a floating regasification platform (FSRU) to secure gas supplies for the country’s power plants. The bidding process is currently underway.

Over the past two and a half years, Iraq has awarded more contracts to American companies than ever before, reflecting the growing level of trust and partnership between the two countries.

Let’s go deeper into the VERY GOOD news…. So, what is this “new chapter” in relations with America they are now talking about? It is the move from the Obama/Biden era of relations to the Trump era. Like I told everyone this policy of first economic giant then RV will not work. At some point all the reforms must work together to get the economy they desire and the reinstatement the Iraqi dinar is part of it. Then let the country grow and rebuild yet even more, using the investment wealth generated from the currency reform. So, this new era I believe includes a new thinking in different terms to get the Iraqi currency reforms completed too and not to delay. But remember, as we have been reading recently, there are banking reforms with Rafidain bank that still need work and the digital dinar currency for inter-banking transfers.

😊In an article today we again learn Ali Al-Alaq talking about the new digital dinar. It’s found in the Article Section under the title “AL-ALAQ: DIGITAL CURRENCIES WILL RESHAPE THE TRADITIONAL BANKING SYSTEM”. The Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Al-Alaq, affirmed on Monday that digital currencies represent a key pillar in the future of the financial sector and could contribute to reshaping the traditional banking system.

😊In the article titled “JPMORGAN STRENGTHENS COOPERATION WITH IRAQ BY INCREASING CORRESPONDENT ACCOUNTS AND PROJECT FINANCING.” In the article we learn that the bank JPMorgan/Chase announced its readiness to expand cooperation with Iraq by increasing the number of correspondent accounts opened for Iraqi banks, in addition to financing a number of important investment projects. WOW! WOW! WOW! Also was discussed “mechanisms for securing credits and financial transfers and ensuring their delivery to those entitled to them in Europe and the United States.”  Is was stressed the importance of expanding the scope of partnership between Iraqi banks and one of the largest global banks JP Morgan/Chase, noting “the government’s readiness to provide all forms of support to strengthen this relationship.”

😊Yet more GOOD news in article titled “DURING A MEETING WITH AL-SUDANI, AN AMERICAN BANK EXPRESSED ITS WILLINGNESS TO FINANCE INVESTMENT PROJECTS IN IRAQ.” US bank JPMorgan/Chase also expressed its willingness to enhance financial cooperation with Iraq by expanding the number of accounts opened by Iraqi banks and financing investment projects in the country. This came during a meeting held by a delegation from the bank with the Iraqi government.

Folks, could the news get any better short of the reinstatement? Oh…but this is what is going to get us the reinstatement, get it?

😊Then out pops yet more GOOD news in the article titled “PARLIAMENTARY FINANCE COMMITTEE STRESSES THE NEED TO REACH AN UNDERSTANDING WITH THE US TREASURY REGARDING THE EVALUATION OF BANKS.” Are the Iraq banks now ready for the reinstatement?

The Parliamentary Finance Committee stressed the need to reach an understanding with the World Bank and the US Treasury regarding the evaluation of Iraqi banks’ performance, to avoid any “sudden” decisions that could negatively impact the country’s banking sector. This came in a speech delivered by Finance Committee Chairman Atwan Al-Atwani on Monday during his participation in the Iraq Banking Sector Development Conference, attended by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani and in cooperation with Oliver Wyman, in Baghdad.

The CBI and Finance Committee is telling us they want to stay on track to complete the banking reforms and their quest for globalization of their economy.

We also learn that the CBI is still concerned about around the 87% of money in Iraq is kept outside of banks due to widespread distrust in the financial system, an expert in economics and banking has revealed. Don’t they realize that a huge chunk of this money is outside of Iraq in our hands as investors?  Siamand Shekha, speaking to BasNews, explained that this lack of trust is holding back the country’s economic growth and banking development. According to the economic advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister, approximately 95 trillion dinars out of a total of 109 trillion dinars are not in the banking sector. How will they retrieve this money? They still have not come up with a solution. But as faithful followers of this RV saga we know that the Project to Delete the Zeros was designed specifically to reign in this money as part of the overall Dr Shabibi plan. But in doing the Project to Delete the Zeros, the CBI will have to move to a revalued dinar close to a dollar to incentive the citizens to turn them in. In other words, they will have to convert the CASH dinars to digital dinars (newer lower denominations). I was told by my CBI contact that this event will happen shortly after the U.S. deals with Iran and neutralizes it. Many of you comment in the blog that this will still take decades. I say “really”? We can already see the writing is on the wall in all the GOOD news of today in this regard. Does all this action seem like it going to take decades? Let’s all keep praying as we can see our prayers are working and God is answering them especially during this time of lent. Let’s take advantage of this season.

Remember the other tools at our disposal too in trying to see the TRUTH and FACTUAL story of the RV saga. These tools also include politics and politics formulate policy towards Iraq. Get it? Also there is the prophetic words that tell us a warning of what is coming next. Remember there have been many prophecies about the dinar and how it too will help the needy and poor. It is all part of the great wealth transfer that is about to take place. In the Political Section of today’s Newsletter we also learn more reinforcement that this situation of the globalists/extreme liberal ideology is not just being forced down the throats of Americans but also of all nations throughout the world. We especially hear the cries of the British and Canadian people. We must also pray for them.

Are you Getting HAPPIER yet!

These prophecies are more important now than ever. They give us the strength, perseverance and hope that a better time is coming and that God’s Hand is at work behind the scenes. If you just take a second even to look around you at this past election cycle how ca you deny that God is at work. It is amazing and there is no other way that these events could have happened the way they turned out. But there is more to come, much more! Now that God has his biblical David re-elected we need to pay attention to what He does next.

God told us it will be an “hypnotic November” and turbulent until next June 2025 and so, isn’t it? Was He lying to us? Remember that these globalist have had it too good for too long and are not just going to lay down and let themselves be destroyed. They are going to fight until the very end. If all else fails the will get more and more desperate to overcome the good trying to rebuild and free our nation.

These prophecies today are powerful and I encourage everyone to listen carefully to them. Is there a connection to getting our long-awaited RV? Of course there is, and if you can’t see it yet then just wait and it will become more and more obvious to you how the crooked run U.S. administrations have corrupted Iraq and held it hostage since the 1991 and 2003 wars with the Bush, Obama and Biden administrations. But this control too is going to end and God is going to finally FREE the Iraqi people again.

NOTE: These prophecies just keep getting better and better, giving us HOPE of a bright future. But the real reason why I listen to them is that we can actually see what God says He will do taking place right in front of our noses. It is a confirmation to me that God is real and is still with us forever just as in biblical times.

From God to the PROPHET:  Julie Green

Important prophecies from the Weekend of March 29th – 30th.

Today I being you two prophecies back-to-back and recorded. These are from March 30th and include the 1st and 2nd prophecies from that day. I bring these together for you as part of the five (5) total prophecies from that weekend. The ones from March 29th 1st and 2nd are also recorded and can be found in my 4/3 Newsletter in my Archives.

I also included the most current Prophecies Fulfilled about planes dropping out of the sky. This prophecy from the book Phoenix Rising 1986 publication by Mary Summer Rain in Chapter 3 titled Eyes Searching, page 43-44 about the planes dropping out of the sky and page 45 about the trains with bad accidents. How did No Eyes, the prophet know about all these future events? Remember she is also blind. If I were you, I would surely buy this book and read it. It will amaze you on the predictions that have come to pass already. But what about the ones to come? These are even scarier. With such a good track record of fulfillment, I truly believe we can see these other prophecies come to pass too. We are now in this period of transition she talked about and our prophets today keep talking about.

March 29th – 1st and 2nd
March 30th -1st and 2nd

Of course, the question that always come to mind as to when is enough and when will God let the wealth transfer occur. If you are waiting just for the RV you are thinking wrong. This RV is just a mere part of it. The entire U.S. and global financial system must first be revitalized and uncorrupted. This includes the U.S. taxation policies and how the government finances itself. These endless wars must stop. We already see the DOGE process underway now and talk of eliminating the IRS and the Feds. The Gold standard too will soon be put back in place. This is the restoration that God talks about through his prophets. I hope everyone is at least beginning to see now why I use the prophetic word as part of the tools to put the entire picture together as to what is happening and paint a timeline to see the reinstatement and RV.

PROPHECIES FULFILLED: How do we engage the prophecies? Are they really a voice from God? So, as we listen and time passes, we step back and analyze what happened and compare to the prophetic words spoken.

This prophecy is also in the prophecies of “no Eyes” in Phoenix Rising by Mary Summer rain. it was first published in 1986. it has now come to pass.

HOW DO WE KILL THE GIANTS OF DEBT, SOCIALISM AND SECULARISM?

Please, please listen VERY carefully to this prophecy. I cannot emphasize enough to spend the time to watch this one – “The Big E”. I am not saying its going to take 6-7 years to get the RV, but that the RV is part of the process along the way and will happen in the process of the prophecy fulfillment.

Do you remember these prophecies from 2007? This is our time now to fulfill these prophecies. So, let’s take a step back and rewind to review them. Then watch to see if Trump does orchestrate their fulfillment. I also believe this wiping out the debt is related to the new energy sources that are coming. In the meantime, the US will work at bringing down the cost of energy. But I believe this will only be a temporary measure until these new sources come.

Folks, I know you may be having a hard time seeing this, but all of this goes hand-in-hand with what we are looking for… the RV of the Iraqi dinar.

This prophecy is especially important and coincides with the more recent Feb 9th prophecy from Julie Green. Did you listen to it? WOW!

WHAT THEY DON’T TELL YOU ABOUT THE DAVOS ELITE

Ever wonder who really is in charge? Former Prime Minister Liz Truss only lasted 6 months and was forced to resign as prime minister in the Great Britian for the conservative party. She was too conservative for the conservatives who actually didn’t want reform bad enough, as she proposed. So, they formulated a plan and ousted her out. Who actually runs the Great Britian?

Listen carefully and you can pull out of this conversation the issues facing Great Britian. Do they sound familiar? Nothing in Great Britian is based on common sense. Oh… who always talks about “common sense” politics?

You can clearly see that in the Trump policies he is not alone as to how politicians should operate for their own country and not some global entity.

BLACKROCK: THE CONSPIRACIES YOU DON’T KNOW

Time to take a good look at Blackrock Asset Management company. Afterall to figure out what is going on in Iraq just follow the money. Last week the company Blackrock announced the purchase of the Basra port in Iraq. So, what do you think they are up to? Let’s first learn about the company and at another time we will investigate more about this purchase.

The fact of the matter is there is a concentration of the majority of investment wealth in three main asset management companies including: BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street. All of them own shares of each other. If one should fail they all would go down. But how can this happen as they each support the other. Essentially they are like one very huge conglomerate.

HOW DID THE UKRAINE WAR BEGIN, JEFFREY SACHS MAKES FIERY SPEECH

The Truth about the Russian / Ukraine is all about the violation of the Minsk agreements and keeping NATO and its missiles out of Ukraine. Was this war really just a U.S. proxy war? What was Putin’s real intention in the war?

HEY UNITED STATES….YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

FARAGE MAKES A HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT | REFORM PARTY LEADER ATTACKS THE CORRUPT POLITICIANS OF THE UK

Sound familiar? Yes, this is a global issue. The PUSH to destroy your countries is not coincidental. It is an orchestrated effort by the globalist elite. It is happening all over the world not just in the U.S. or Canada, only your major mainstream news media channels in your country refuse to tell the truth and are not letting you know the FACTS of what is happening in the rest of the world.

Yes, it is the UN that is “covertly” behind it. The U.S., is not alone in this fight. Look what they are doing to Canada and now Great Britian, your brother countries! They don’t give a damn about you only to use an upcoming crisis caused by their political mistakes to gain yet more power and control over you. Does this sound familiar what they are doing in the UK?

Why do your politicians do it? Why do you keep voting to keep them to stay in control to accept this globalist ideology?

Listen carefully in the reforms he recommends. If you are in the U.S. do these reforms sound familiar?

There is a solution and it comes with “common sense” and with a party that is on your side. Is Nigel Farage the Donald Trump of the UK? Do you get it now what is going on?

WHO ARE THESE MODERN “LIBERALS” ANYHOW?

These visions of a post-national world are delusional. Ayaan Hirsi Ali during ARC 2025 speaks out against these neo-liberals and their ideology. Have they gone TOO far left we can now call them fascists and even Marxist Communists? If the shoe fits wear it!

WHAT DOES THE DEMOCRAT PARTY STAND FOR ANYWAY?

What is do bad about cutting waste and saving taxpayers billions, maybe even cutting your taxes as a result. Do they even know themselves? If you are a democrat and object to the Trump DOGE agency, then you might want to watch this video and learn something. I find it amazing how people forget so soon, if they ever even learned anything at all in the past.

WHAT YOU ARE NOT BEING TOLD ABOUT THE UN AGENDA 2030

If you ever wondered where this woke stuff comes from you can clearly see it is a non-elected body of people with their lofty ideas for humanity. It’s called the United Nations leadership team. Actually, it’s about lining their own pockets and pockets of their big paying supporters. Of course, they use their fancy narratives to lend credibility to what they propose and to get you to go along with it. But we have already seen with UN Agenda 2021 has done to the world, that in really it is not about equality, racial justice or any of their other narratives, but just all about more CONTROL. Listen carefully what they want to do, not what they say. Who the hell are these people anyhow to force their own design upon the world?

One last note. There is a reason why President Trump is defunding these UN agencies. See if you can understand it more after watching this video. I am here to try to help you understand. These Un guys are marching to the tune of Marxists Communist ideology.

Nicely packaged in a nice sounding agenda.
But what does it really mean in practice for our sovereign, freedom loving nations?

CONTROL- CONTROL- AND MORE CONTROL

Will the other developed nations realize the dangers too and take the lead from the U.S.? Can we solve yet another crisis brought on us by the woke UN policies? Oh… maybe it’s time to stop funding the UN or better yet get rid of it altogether. What purpose is it now serving?

HILLARY CLINTON EMAILS REVEAL REAL REASON U.S. DESTROYED LIBYA

In case you are wondering this is all connected to what we are now seeing going on in Iraq and why the dinar is being still suppressed even though we know its true value based on its assets.

The U.S. in decades of past administrations supported a global system of sustaining itself to stay in control to serve only the 1% of the elite. This is the real “sustainability” they mean when you hear this term used quite often by the UN.

Yes, it is your tax dollars supporting these efforts. Hillary tried to wash her computer while communicating off the Federal secured servers, but the information was still obtained on what was going on and why in Libya. So, we can see that the CIA is the non-elected organization that must be cleaned up and is the controlling mechanism for these foreign wars.

What happened in Libya is a perfect example of what is taking place. In my 04/01 Newsletter I presented information about the Libya currency and how it finally was reformed, but only after the country’s resources were finally compromised and controlled by the elite.

The “Project For The New American Century” planned out seven (7) Middle Eastern and African countries that needed to be taken. What did they want? They wanted their resources.

Libya

Syria

Iran

Iraq

Somalia

Afghanistan

Lebanon

Do all of these countries sound familiar? Are these not the countries in the past decades that have been the areas (target) of conflict and war? Of course the “fake” news media paints a different picture to hide the TRUTH. These small wars don’t just happen they are all orchestrated and planned for a reason. It’s all about the money.

THINK TANK: PROJECT FOR THE NEW AMERICAN CENTURY

So, if you truly, truly want all these endless, costly wars to end, saving $$$ trillions of your tax dollars and lives, then you must first stand up and fight the establishment, know who is causing them and then shut down these warped policies forever. Elect officials that will eliminate these players or agencies from your governments and then ensure the checks and balances are being enforced in the future.

Pray, Pray, Pray & Pray some more!

Please try to remember to pray each and every day. In Hebrews 11:6, it underscores this principle of why we pray: “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

It is LENT time for us Catholics. We are winding down LENT as Palm Sunday is just around the corner. Why not take advantage of the LENTEN season and pray. Praying the rosaries for me is my way to pray and has had a significant impact on my life and focus during this Easter season. I find it is good to remember the Stations of the Cross during lent and what our savior did for us. In know many of you may not be Catholics or even Christians but try to take a different approach this Easter. Try to see what all the fuss is about Christ. Put yourself in Christ shoes (or should I say sandals) as an ordinary person in today’s world. You can quickly see that the nature of man has not changed very much and if Christ were born today, many would probably try to crucify him. Have we not learned anything?

AL-SUDANI: IRAQ IS WITNESSING AN UNPRECEDENTED PHASE OF RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT.

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said on Friday, April 4, 2025, that: “Iraq is witnessing an unprecedented phase of reconstruction and development.”

During his meeting today with a group of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries from various communities at the guest house of Hajj Rahim Majisar al-Baydani in Baghdad, Al-Sudani affirmed that “the tribes have always been with the state since its founding, beginning with the 1920 Revolution, and their contributions and sacrifices have continued effectively at various stages and times.”

The Prime Minister pointed to “the role of the tribes and their honorable stance in responding to the religious authority’s call for sufficient jihad, the call of the nation, as all members of the tribes that bear the Iraqi color lined up in the trench of confrontation against terrorism. This stance came at a time when it was rumored that Iraq had ended as a state, only for the country to return safe and unified.”

Al-Sudani stressed that “the supreme religious authority’s indication that Iraqis have a cultural and intellectual heritage that they must study, understand, and rely on is a fitting indication, and that our country, with its culture and resources, is capable of facing various challenges.” He emphasized that “her talk about Iraq’s recovery and being on the right path is a reassuring message to some alarmists who paint a picture of anxiety, panic, and defeatism among society.”

He explained, “What we enjoy today is thanks to the sacrifices and honorable stances of the tribes, which we cannot forget. Iraq is strong, capable, healthy, and progressing, as attested to by all regional and international institutions.” He indicated that “Iraq has an important pioneering role, and the reconstruction and development it is witnessing, from Basra to Nineveh, is an unprecedented phase.”

He continued, “From the outset, the government has worked on priorities based on the needs of the people, far removed from any personal or partisan objectives. We cannot mortgage the country’s future solely to oil, especially since Iraq possesses the potential for agriculture, industry, and tourism.”

Al-Sudani stated, “Our country is distinguished by its geographical location as a global trade corridor. That’s why we launched the Development Road project, and we are working day and night to achieve our commitment. We have the capabilities, resources, and determination to face various challenges.”

He pointed out that “work is continuing on a project to transport gas to our power stations, and there is a genuine will to implement reforms, and we have made significant progress in this regard, in a timeframe not exceeding two and a half years of the government’s term.”

He continued, “The region has witnessed exceptional circumstances, and the government’s greatest test was how to handle this crisis, given Iraq’s principled position on the Palestinian issue. The continued Zionist aggression against the Palestinians has demonstrated the failure of the international community.”

He explained, “We were able to preserve Iraq by acting wisely and responsibly to avoid slipping into the arena of war and conflict. Some emotional and hasty voices wanted Iraq to go to war and conflict.”

The Prime Minister stressed that “the interests of Iraq and Iraqis are the government’s top priority, and there is no room for favoritism toward any internal or external party.” He explained that “the government’s approach is to preserve the supreme interests of the state, and we have full hope that the clerics, tribal sheikhs, and elites will promote a discourse of unity, solidarity, and brotherhood among all members of society.”

He continued, “There are those who thrive on the rhetoric of sedition, crisis, and conspiracies, and we must pay attention to this matter, especially with the upcoming elections. We are confident that Iraq’s future is promising, thanks to its people, capabilities, resources, and sound principles for governing the state.”

WITH ITS GLOBAL DECLINE, AL-SUDANI: THE COUNTRY’S ECONOMY CANNOT BE MORTGAGED TO ITS DEPENDENCE ON OIL.

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met today, Friday, with a group of tribal sheikhs and dignitaries from various components, at the guest house of Hajj Rahim Majiser al-Baydani in Baghdad.

Al-Sudani congratulated the attendees on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, thanking Rahim Majiser al-Baydani for the invitation. He also praised his social and humanitarian role and contributions, including his provision of aid and support to security forces and displaced persons during the war on ISIS. He emphasized that the tribes have always supported the state since its founding, beginning with the 1920 Revolution, and that their contributions and sacrifices have continued effectively at various stages and times.

The Prime Minister pointed to the role of the tribes and their honorable stance in responding to the religious authority’s call for sufficient jihad, the call of the homeland, as all members of the tribes that bear the Iraqi color lined up in the trench of confrontation against terrorism. This stance came at a time when it was rumored that Iraq had ended as a state, only for the country to return safe and unified.

Al-Sudani emphasized that the supreme religious authority’s reference to Iraqis having a cultural and intellectual heritage that they must study, understand, and rely on is a fitting gesture, and that our country, with its culture and resources, is capable of facing various challenges. He emphasized that the reference to Iraq’s recovery and its being on the right path is a reassuring message to some alarmists who paint a picture of anxiety, panic, and defeatism among society.

The following are the most important points made by the Prime Minister:

What we enjoy today is thanks to the sacrifices and honorable stances of the tribes, which we cannot forget. Iraq is strong, capable, healthy, and progressing, as attested to by all regional and international institutions.

Iraq has an important pioneering role, and the reconstruction and development it is witnessing from Basra to Nineveh is an unprecedented phase.

From the beginning, the government has worked on priorities based on the needs of the people, far from any personal or partisan objectives. We cannot mortgage the country’s future to oil alone, especially since Iraq possesses the potential for agriculture, industry, and tourism.

Our country is distinguished by its geographical location as a global trade corridor; this is why we launched the Development Road project. We work day and night to achieve our commitments, and we have the capabilities, resources, and determination to face various challenges.

Work is continuing on a project to transport gas to our power stations.

There is a genuine will to achieve reforms, and we have made significant progress in this regard, in a period not exceeding two and a half years of the government’s term.

The region witnessed exceptional circumstances, and the government’s greatest test was how to handle this crisis, given Iraq’s principled position on the Palestinian issue.

The continued Zionist aggression against the Palestinians has revealed the failure of the international community.

We were able to preserve Iraq by acting wisely and responsibly to avoid slipping into the arena of war and conflict. Some emotional and hasty voices wanted Iraq to go to war and conflict.

The interests of Iraq and the Iraqis are the government’s top priority, and there is no room for favoritism toward any internal or external party. The government’s approach is to preserve the country’s supreme interests, and we have full hope that religious leaders, tribal sheikhs, and elites will promote a message of unity, solidarity, and brotherhood among all members of society.

There are those who thrive on the rhetoric of sedition, crisis, and conspiracies, and we must pay attention to this matter, especially with the upcoming elections. We are confident that Iraq’s future is promising, thanks to its people, capabilities, resources, and sound principles of state administration.

AL-SUDANI’S ADVISOR TO RUDAW: US TARIFFS DO NOT INCLUDE OIL AND GAS, AND THEIR IMPACT WILL BE ZERO.

Mazhar Mohammed Salih, financial and economic advisor to the Iraqi Prime Minister, downplayed the impact of the US decision to impose a 39% tariff on Iraqi products, noting that Iraq has no significant exports to the US market.

Mazhar Mohammed Saleh told Rudaw Media Network on Thursday (April 3, 2025): “The US customs tariffs do not include oil and gas, which means that the impact of this move on Iraq will be zero, because Iraq does not have any other noteworthy goods exported to America that could be subject to customs duties.”

Saleh explained that “Iraqi crude oil exports to the United States do not exceed $5 billion annually, and the US market is considered a secondary market for Iraq compared to those of China and India, where approximately 70% of Iraqi oil is exported.”

Regarding the import of American goods to Iraq, he noted that “Iraq imports 90% of its goods and civilian needs from Turkey, India, China, the UAE, and some European countries,” describing the American market as a “secondary market” compared to Asian and European markets.

Al-Sudani’s advisor said, “The Strategic Framework Agreement signed between Iraq and the United States in 2008 has protected Iraq from shifts in the US’s highly protectionist policy, particularly with regard to the imposition of customs duties.”

US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday the imposition of 39% tariffs on imports from US trading partners, including Iraq.

ECONOMIST: CUSTOMS TARIFFS PORTEND A GLOBAL RECESSION AND IRAQ WILL BE HARMED BY THE DROP IN OIL PRICES.

Economic expert Abdul Rahman Al Mashhadani confirmed that the United States’ imposition of customs tariffs on goods and commodities will have indirect effects on Iraq, even though the price increase will have a direct impact on the American market.

Al-Mashhadani explained to Al-Furat News Agency that “this policy will cause an increase in inflation rates within the United States, which will negatively impact American citizens with a general rise in prices depending on the importance of commodities.”

He explained that the indirect impact is the possibility of a global economic recession resulting from a decline in the volume of American, European and Canadian exports to European markets, due to reduced investments and the disruption of commercial activity due to the size of the American market.

Al-Mashhadani warned that “this recession will affect global industry, reducing demand for oil and leading to a decline in its global prices, which will indirectly harm the Iraqi economy, which depends heavily on oil revenues.”

Two days ago, US President Donald Trump announced the imposition of countervailing tariffs on most countries around the world, with rates ranging from 10% to 49%, including Iraq.

Trump designated April 2 as “Liberation Day.”

THE IMPACT OF NEW US POLICIES ON THE NATIONAL ECONOMY

For two months, the world has been witnessing new economic decisions by the US administration and political, security, and economic tensions. The latest concerns the increase in tariffs on US imports from some countries, particularly the European Union, China, and oil-producing and exporting countries.

Of course, the primary objective of these economic decisions is purely political.

In light of a realistic analysis of international economic, political, and security developments and their expected impact on the Iraqi economy, and with a close eye on the challenges and crises experienced by the national economy, influenced by the economic crises suffered by major economies, the strategic conflicts between the US, China, European countries, and emerging economies such as India, Brazil, and the BRICS countries, the bias of some countries toward the US strategy to lead the world economically, and other countries toward the strategy of China and some emerging countries to establish a new international economic pole to confront US hegemony. One of the most prominent outcomes of this conflict is the global energy and food crisis, which has persisted for more than a decade and continues to plague countries with weak, poor, and rentier economies, preventing them from making a structural and comprehensive transition to emerging economies capable of withstanding and overcoming the effects of global economic conflicts. Since mid-June 2014 and the first quarter of 2020, the Iraqi economy has faced complex and cumulative challenges due to changes in the global economy, including the slowdown in global economic growth due to the US-China conflict, the COVID-19 pandemic, the fight against terrorism, the decline in global oil prices, which reached a decline rate exceeding 70%, and the economic recession. Most countries around the world have been affected by these repercussions, which have had a profound impact on the Iraqi economy. What concerns us is the results of these repercussions and the expected impacts and implications for the economic reality in Iraq in the coming years and until 2030.

In light of the study and analysis, the following can be expected at the level of the global economic system and its implications for Iraq:

First, growth rates in the global economy are expected to decline significantly, affecting the US economy and the economies of the European Union countries, China, and Russia, but at varying rates. Stagflation will prevail in most countries of the world, and this will be reflected in a slowdown in GDP growth by rates ranging between 4-10% in oil-producing and non-oil-producing Arab countries, especially after the countries of the geographic region faced new challenges due to the Zionist aggression on Gaza and the West Bank. The West, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, and American threats to Iran have created a new complex situation that will have negative repercussions on the national economy.

Second, the new global economic order we expect to emerge in the coming years will inevitably take shape and will be under the clear economic and financial leadership of the United States, China, and other powers. The Silk Road will be implemented to include the countries through which it was planned to pass, to revive their economies, and it will actually be completed. It is also expected that the path to development will be completed, and Iraq and the countries participating in the project will play a significant role, with positive economic repercussions.

Third, the philosophy of economic management will most likely shift from the capitalist market economy to the social market economy currently adopted as a disciplinary ideology, as in China and some other countries around the world.

These are only early predictions, and the Arab economy will likely be subordinate to the new, larger and more economically powerful pole.

So, what is required of economic decision-makers in Iraq in the face of these developments and changes expected to sweep the world? I see, with a penetrating analytical view of the current economic reality, that we urgently need radical and comprehensive economic change and reform based on the following key pillars:

First: Reshaping the national income resources map by reducing reliance on oil as the primary resource and activating other resources in the coming years to bring them to 30% of the total general budget resources.

Second: Radical and comprehensive change in agricultural, industrial, trade, oil, energy, and water policies by relying on local resources to ensure food and water security, encouraging, protecting, and supporting local production, and developing programs and strategies to protect consumers.

Third: Supporting, developing, and stimulating the private sector, leveraging its capabilities, potential, capital, and investments in building the national economy, and involving it in economic decision-making and economic management.

Fourth: Developing clear strategies for coordination between monetary and fiscal policies, formulating clear financial policies, and re-establishingfoundations for preparing and presenting annual general budgets based on programs, not items. Reducing the budget deficit to the legally specified percentage of GDP, as well as reducing domestic borrowing to a minimum and avoiding any external borrowing.

Fifth: Completing the new methodology adopted by the Central Bank for banking reform and development and digital transformation in all digital fields, with a focus on implementing the Central Bank’s strategy, establishing the financial center, and using artificial intelligence in analyzing, ensuring transparency and accuracy of data for sound economic planning purposes and overcoming the challenges of instability in the financial and monetary systems. This means developing coordinated and balanced plans to overcome the challenges of monetary policy, the challenges of the deficit in non-oil revenue, the deficit in the balance of payments and the trade balance, and the percentage of contribution of productive sectors (the real economy) to the gross domestic product.

A HIGH-LEVEL US TRADE DELEGATION IS EXPECTED TO VISIT BAGHDAD.

Iraq is anticipating the visit of a high-level US trade delegation comprising several major American companies. The visit is expected to strengthen relations between Washington and Baghdad in the areas of security, infrastructure, andenergy.

This was announced by Farhad Alaa El-Din, the Sudanese Prime Minister’s advisor for foreign affairs, on Friday, April 4, 2025. He explained that the delegation will arrive in Baghdad next week, and that an agreement is expected to be concluded between the American company General Electric and the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity to develop the electricity sector in Iraq.

The advisor noted that the agreement will help address Iraq’s current electricity shortage, which stands at 48,000 megawatts.

Alaa El-Din added that the United States has significantly expanded its economic relations with Iraq over the past two and a half years, and that Washington is playing an increasingly important role in revitalizing the Iraqi economy.

The US delegation’s visit was organized by the Iraqi Chamber of Commerce, and several agreements and memoranda of understanding are expected to be signed between the two sides, in addition to an agreement to develop the electricity sector.

Alaa El-Din also noted that Iraq seeks to leverage the capabilities of American companies to address the problem of flaring large quantities of associated gas due to the lack of adequate infrastructure.

The US trade delegation’s visit comes amid US President Donald Trump’s imposition of tariffs on several countries, including Iraq, which Trump announced on Wednesday night, April 2, 2025, at a rate of 39%.

IRAN’S SURPRISE: WITHDRAWING ITS FORCES FROM YEMEN AND ABANDONING THE HOUTHIS

Iran has ordered the withdrawal of its military personnel from Yemen, abandoning its Houthi allies , as the United States escalates its campaign of airstrikes against the rebel group.

A senior Iranian official told the British newspaper The Telegraph that this move aims to avoid a direct confrontation with the United States if an Iranian soldier is killed.

Iran’s main concern

The official added that Iran is also scaling back its strategy of supporting a network of regional proxies in order to focus on direct threats from the United States. The source said that Tehran’s primary concern is US President Donald Trump and how to deal with him.

He added, “All meetings are dominated by discussions about him, and we no longer discuss any of the regional groups we previously supported.” Since chat messages from senior Trump administration officials were leaked to the media last month, the United States has launched near-daily attacks on the Houthis.

Donald Trump described the strikes as “incredibly successful,” destroying important military targets and killing field commanders.

A Pentagon spokesman said more warplanes would be sent to the region, without providing specific details.

However, the US Air Force’s 124th Fighter Wing announced late last month that it would send “several” A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft and 300 aircrew to the Middle East.

A Russian military expert in Sanaa, the Yemeni capital, is also believed to be advising the Houthis on how to carry out their attacks while avoiding targeting Saudi Arabia.

The kingdom has bombed Houthi forces in Yemen since intervening in the civil war in 2015, and hosted high-level talks between the United States and Russia on a possible ceasefire in Ukraine.

The Houthis announced that they were attacking US warships in the Red Sea, including the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, which is leading efforts to strike the rebel group.

No ships have been hit so far, but the US Navy said the Houthi fire was the heaviest its sailors had encountered since World War II. The US aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, currently stationed in Asia, is heading to the Middle East to support the Truman.

They won’t be able to stay.”

An Iranian regime source said: “The view here is that the Houthis will not be able to survive and are living out their last months or even days, so there is no point in keeping them within our network.”

He added: “They were part of a chain that relied on Nasrallah [former Hezbollah Secretary-General] and Assad, and keeping only one part of that chain makes no sense in the future.”

Trump has intensified pressure on Iran to come to the negotiating table to discuss limiting its nuclear program. Last week, he moved B-2 stealth bombers to the US-UK military base of Diego Garcia in the Chagos Islands.

The US position on Iran and the Middle East has changed radically since Trump took office.

Sanam Vakil, director of the Middle East and North Africa Program at Chatham House, said the escalation of US strikes on Yemen represents an attempt by the Trump administration to distinguish itself from its predecessor.

Former US President Joe Biden removed the Houthis from the list of terrorist organizations in 2021—a decision that Trump reversed last January.

“Trump is trying to prove that he is more effective in ending and resolving conflicts than the Biden administration,” Vakil said. She added that the strikes “are linked to his maximum pressure campaign, while simultaneously sending a message to Iran and the axis of resistance that his administration will take a more aggressive approach to destabilizing regional activities.”

Mahmoud Shahra, a former Yemeni diplomat and current fellow at Chatham House, said the United States had pursued a “defensive strategy” against the Houthis during Biden’s term.

“Previous miscalculations regarding the Houthis in the US have led Trump to launch heavier strikes against them now, and [the US] has begun targeting key individuals and influencers within their ranks,” he told The Telegraph from Amman, the Jordanian capital.

He explained that the Houthis’ weapons are more advanced, making them more powerful than other Iranian-backed non-state groups in the region.

“After the collapse of Hezbollah and the Assad regime, the Houthis are now on the front line, and they have carried out very intensive attacks. They are escalating and taking risks because, according to their own calculations, it prolongs their political life in Yemen,” Shahra added.

“They are receiving missiles and drones from Iran and rebranding them with Houthi names because they don’t want to show their connection to Iran due to internal propaganda,” he said. Israel’s success against Hamas and Hezbollah—two key elements of Iran’s proxy network—has provided an opportunity to weaken the Islamic regime’s influence.

Analysts also believe that Iran’s failure to carry out effective missile strikes on Israel last year has undermined its ability to provide credible deterrence against external attacks and has weakened the morale of its allies.

The Israeli military destroyed most of Hamas’s infrastructure in Gaza and inflicted heavy losses on Hezbollah. Iran also failed to protect Bashar al-Assad, the ousted Syrian president and a key ally, from a surprise rebel offensive that led to his ouster in December.

As Hezbollah’s influence declined, the Houthis attempted to take its place in leading the fight against Israel.

“They are not like Hezbollah”

Since the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks on Israel, the Houthis have improved their tactics and missile capabilities, building a strong public image.

The newspaper says, “They control Sana’a, print money, collect taxes, divert aid, smuggle drugs, sell weapons to terrorist groups in Africa, and disrupt international shipping routes in the Red Sea.”

They also enjoy a geographical advantage; Yemen’s mountainous terrain, similar to Afghanistan, helps them hide missile and drone stores in caves and underground.

“They don’t have the same experience as Hezbollah, but they are more aggressive and dangerous at the same time – Abdul-Malik al-Houthi aspires to lead the axis of resistance,” Shahra said.

“The streets of Yemen are filled with anger. The Houthis are not paying salaries and are imposing absolute taxes without representation. Therefore, their social base is not strong, and that is why they are relying on the Gaza war,” he added.

CALLS FOR “LIBERATING IRAQ” IN WASHINGTON: THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION’S VISION AND ESCALATION WITH IRAN

Former Iraqi diplomat Ghazi Faisal confirmed on Saturday (April 5, 2025) that calls for the “liberation of Iraq” issued by US officials in Washington reflect the vision of the administration of US President Donald Trump for dealing with the situation in Iraq.

Faisal explained in a statement to Baghdad Today that “Republican Representative Wilson’s statements regarding the ‘liberation of Iraq’ project do not come out of nowhere, but rather represent the Trump administration’s strategy toward Iran, which the United States considers a ‘terrorist state’ and the world’s foremost sponsor of terrorism.”

The “liberation of Iraq” project being promoted in Washington reflects American concerns about Iran’s influence in the region. Some US officials are calling for more decisive steps to counter this influence, reflecting an escalation in positions that could lead to changes in US policies toward Iraq and the region as a whole.

FACTIONS ENTER “ULTIMATUM C” AFTER THE “LIBERATION OF IRAQ” PROJECT FROM IRAN

Following news of an “emergency government,” Al-Sudani speaks of conspiracies.

The sources close to the armed groups added that the latter “took security measures for fear of being targeted in conjunction with expected strikes on Tehran.”

The sources explained that “first, second, and even third-line leaders took refuge in unknown locations as a precautionary measure.”
These groups, which are called the “Iraqi resistance,” have been adhering to “unprecedented” security measures since the “Pager” incident, which revealed Israel’s penetration of the Lebanese Hezbollah party before the killing of its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, last September.

Outside the flock, the Friday Imam of Najaf, Sadr al-Din al-Qabanji, threatened to target American bases in Iraq, against the backdrop of the recent escalation with Iran.

Al-Qabanji said in his Friday sermon: “We advise Trump not to rush into war or threaten war. We are ready to defend our religion and are certain that the gates of heaven have been opened to us.”
He added that “the American bases in Iraq are within range of Iranian artillery; indeed, they are within reach of the fists of Iraq’s youth, and no one can prevent them from doing so.”

About two months ago, the government began “faltering” negotiations with “four factions” that still do not comply with the instructions of the Popular Mobilization Authority, while Parliament is considering a law to “restructure the Popular Mobilization Forces” to prevent these groups from returning and dragging the country into war.

According to statements by the leader of the Hikma Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, “the armed factions are committed to not escalating against Washington to avoid embarrassing the government led by Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.”
Some unknown armed groups appeared last month, following events in Syria and Yemen, such as the “Abbas Shield Forces Martyrdom” group, but quickly disappeared.

Factions or the Popular Mobilization Forces?!

A debate is raging in Iraq over the fate of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF). Mithal al-Alusi, a former parliamentarian, believes that “there is no such thing as ‘factions’ in Washington,” and that Washington wants to “dissolve the PMF.”

However, Hadi al-Amiri, leader of the Badr Organization, said that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani “personally” denied to him circulating reports about the United States demanding the dissolution or integration of the PMF.

He added in his statements that “talk about the resistance and the PMF carries many allegations and lies,” considering that “the PMF is Iraq’s safety valve, and it is everyone’s duty to confront the lies.”

Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad, Mohammed Kazem Al-Sadiq, had previously said that US President Donald Trump’s letter to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei included a request to “dissolve the PMF and the armed factions.”

In response, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani responded to the Iranian ambassador’s statements by confirming that there was no US request to dissolve the Popular Mobilization Forces.

Subsequently, the Iranian ambassador retracted his statements, denying knowledge of the message’s content and saying he had analyzed the signals coming from Washington.

Liberate Iraq!
The US Senate is considering a bill introduced by Republican Senator Joe Wilson, which calls for the so-called “liberation of Iraq from Iran.” No Iraqi party has yet commented on the US proposal.
The provisions of the new bill are reminiscent of the previous “liberation of Iraq” from Saddam’s regime law, which was introduced in the Senate in 1998.
The text of the new law includes proposals and provisions requiring the US State Department and the US Treasury to develop a comprehensive 180-day strategy to reduce Iran’s influence in Iraq.

The provisions include proposals to dissolve the factions and the Popular Mobilization Forces and classify them as “terrorist organizations,” as well as the prosecution of major Iraqi political figures.

The bill imposes sanctions against 11 factions, in addition to 12 Iraqi political figures’ and includes a halt to US security assistance to Iraq until “the factions and those close to Iran are removed from state institutions.”

Crisis and Openness
These developments come amid reports circulating in political circles about the formation of a “crisis cell” or an “emergency government.” The government has not yet officially commented on this information.

In what appeared to be an indirect response to this news, Al-Sudani said during a meeting with a group of tribal sheikhs: “There are those who thrive on the rhetoric of sedition, crisis, and conspiracies, and we must pay attention to this matter, especially with the upcoming elections.”
He added, “Some emotional an” hasty voices wanted Iraq to go to war and conflict,” explaining that “the region witnessed exceptional circumstances, and the government’s biggest test was in how to deal with the crisis.”

Nouri al-Maliki, leader of the State of Law coalition, had spoken of “a danger surrounding the electoral process,” but said he would speak about it later.
In a video address regarding the elections, al-Maliki called on Iraqis “not to listen to anyone trying to dissuade them from participating in the upcoming elections.”

Al-Maliki spoke of “a danger surrounding the elections,” but said he would “address it later, and citizens must adhere to an agreement and contract to protect the electoral process and reject cases of manipulation and the spending of money to spoil it.
“ Contrary to the tensions between Baghdad and Washington, the Iraqi Prime Minister’s advisor for foreign affairs, Farhad Alaaldin, emphasized the existence of a “unique opportunity” for the two countries to deepen their strategic partnership.
This partnership, according to Alaaldin’s vision, expressed in an article published by the British newspaper The National, is no longer limited to traditional security cooperation, but rather extends to broader horizons of economic integration and the strengthening of regional security and long-term stability.

Alaaldin’s statements are supported by the upcoming visit of a large delegation of American companies to the Iraqi capital in the coming days.

This visit is expected to result in the signing of several memoranda of understanding and agreements between American companies and their Iraqi counterparts, which will enhance the volume of trade exchange and joint investments.

AL-SUDANI’S ADVISOR TALKS ABOUT A “NEW CHAPTER” WITH WASHINGTON AND THE AGENDA OF A US DELEGATION IN IRAQ SOON.

Farhad Alaaldin, the Iraqi Prime Minister’s advisor for foreign affairs, spoke about a “new chapter in the Iraqi-American partnership.” He also touched on a “promising” opportunity for American companies specializing in the manufacture of floating platforms and the supply of liquefied natural gas to participate effectively in Iraq. He also revealed the agendas of a “high-level” American delegation visiting Iraq this month.

Alaa El-Din said in an article in the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, followed by Al-Jabal, “On the sidelines of a recent visit to Washington, D.C., an American official explained to me that the US administration’s foreign policy approach focuses on making the United States more secure, stronger, and prosperous. In my opinion, this approach is completely in line with Iraq’s aspirations and foreign policy, particularly with the policy of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, who has adopted the principle of putting Iraq first and the common interest, which will also make Iraq more secure, stronger, and prosperous.”

He added, “The ongoing transformations in the country are contributing to the consolidation of solid and advanced partnerships between Baghdad and Washington. Over the past years, Iraqi-American relations have witnessed steadily growing in the areas of security, energy, and the economy, in accordance with the principle of mutual interests . Today, with the accelerating pace of economic renaissance and comprehensive development in Iraq, particularly in the energy sector, opportunities are more available than ever before for major American companies to contribute to shaping this renaissance and leave a clear and effective mark, in addition to their role in strengthening and consolidating bilateral relations between the two countries .”

He noted that “a high-level delegation representing a select group of major American companies is scheduled to arrive in Baghdad in April to explore new and promising opportunities in the rapidly growing Iraqi market. This visit, led by the American-Iraqi Chamber of Commerce, is part of a broader initiative to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries .”

The advisor said, “Several memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements are expected to be signed during the visit between visiting companies and their Iraqi counterparts. It is certain that solid global companies such as General Electric, KBR , Baker Hughes, Halliburton, Honeywell, and others are capable of playing a pivotal role in developing Iraq’s energy sector, given the availability of investment opportunities and multi-billion-dollar contracts to modernize this vital sector .”

Alaa El-Din noted that “this visit is likely to result in the signing of an unprecedented agreement between General Electric and the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity, aiming to produce 24,000 megawatts of highly efficient power, as announced by the Minister of Electricity, Engineer Ali Fadhil, in a televised interview on March 28, 2025. This agreement aims to contribute to bridging the significant gap in electricity demand, which is expected to reach 48,000 megawatts .”

The Prime Minister’s Advisor explained that “parallel efforts to address this challenge include establishing cross-border partnerships, in addition to continuing national work to complete the Gulf Electricity Interconnection Project, which aims to deliver 500 megawatts from the electricity grid to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries via the State of Kuwait by 2025. Iraq’s understandings with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Turkey are also expected to result in importing a total of 2,500 megawatts of energy by 2027. While the volume of imports increases to meet the growing demand, paving the way for reaching the stage of self-sufficiency, the need to cooperate with American companies in the areas of technology transfer and infrastructure development remains critical to achieving sustainability and providing long-term solutions .”

He added, “Iraq’s natural gas sector also highlights the significant opportunities available to advance the country’s energy development. Huge quantities of associated gas are still being flared daily, around the clock, due to weak infrastructure and the urgent need for advanced international expertise in processing and exploiting this vital resource. In this context, American companies possess advanced technical and technological capabilities, making them ideal partners in this field. These capabilities can effectively contribute to reducing waste and maximizing the use of natural resources, which will benefit both countries and help Iraq achieve energy self-sufficiency in the near and medium term .”

“On March 4, Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani announced that the ministry is in the process of importing a floating regasification platform (FSRU) to secure gas supplies for the country’s power plants. The bidding process is currently underway, and the most suitable bid to implement the project is expected to be selected in the near future. This project represents a promising opportunity for American companies specialized in manufacturing floating platforms and supplying liquefied natural gas (LNG) to participate effectively and compete on an equal footing with other international companies, as part of Iraq’s efforts to expand its options and diversify its sources to secure its energy needs, ” he said.

Alaa Al-Din continued, “Over the past two and a half years, Iraq has awarded more contracts to American companies than ever before, reflecting the growing level of trust and partnership between the two countries. Economic cooperation between Iraq and the United States has witnessed remarkable growth, encompassing various sectors, including agriculture and food industries. Currently, the Iraqi government is moving to accelerate the implementation of major infrastructure projects, particularly in the areas of transportation, water, and communications. These sectors are areas of interest and expertise for American companies, making them among the most prominent candidates to win these contracts and contribute effectively to the development process in Iraq .”

He pointed out that “Iraq’s accelerating economic trajectory represents a real opportunity to deepen the partnership with the United States, especially in light of the ambitious drive to develop the energy and infrastructure sectors. American companies are in a unique position to lead this process and contribute to the implementation of its most important components with high efficiency. US National Security Advisor Mike Waltz confirmed this possibility during a phone call he had on March 10 with Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. He thanked the Prime Minister for his commitment to the bilateral relationship between the United States and Iraq and praised the Trump administration’s dedication to strengthening energy and economic relations between the two countries for the benefit of both the American and Iraqi people .”

He pointed out that “it is increasingly clear in both Baghdad and Washington that the path forward is defined by shared interests and opportunities, which is driving bilateral relations toward more robust cooperation, based on mutual respect and convergence of strategic objectives. This is consistent with the fundamental principles of making the United States safer, stronger, and more prosperous, on the one hand, and fulfills Iraq’s aspirations for promoting stability and comprehensive economic development, on the other .”

He explained, “Looking ahead, Iraq and the United States have certain opportunities to deepen their partnership in ways that contribute to enhancing regional security, economic integration, and long-term stability. This approach was at the heart of the phone call that took place between Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and US President Donald Trump on November 8, 2024. According to the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, both sides expressed their commitment to advancing the strategic partnership between Iraq and the United States and strengthening bilateral relations beyond security aspects, with a focus on the areas of economy, finance, energy, and technology .”

Al-Sudani’s advisor concluded by saying, “This agreement paves the way for a new chapter in the Iraqi-American partnership, heralding a promising future in light of shared interests. It places economic development and regional stability at the heart of the relationship between the two countries, serving their peoples and effectively contributing to consolidating security and peace in the region and the world .”

PARLIAMENTARY FINANCE COMMITTEE STRESSES THE NEED TO REACH AN UNDERSTANDING WITH THE US TREASURY REGARDING THE EVALUATION OF BANKS.

Al-Atwani congratulated the Central Bank of Iraq’s management on the launch of the “Banking Sector Development Project,” noting that it “represents a starting point for a comprehensive reform of the financial and monetary systems, based on solid scientific foundations, and paves the way for achieving sustainable development and economic reform.”

The Chairman of the Finance Committee noted the committee’s commitment to supporting the Central Bank’s efforts to promote sustainable financing concepts, encourage public and private banks to finance economic activities and development projects, and diversify sources of income, thus contributing to reducing the financial deficit in public budgets. He added that “the banking sector is the cornerstone for driving the national economy and combating corruption.”

Al-Atwani emphasized that developing this sector “is a cornerstone of the economic reform project and a pivotal step in the transition to a diversified economy, away from excessive reliance on oil revenues.” Discussing maximizing non-oil revenues, he explained that “the introduction of modern banking systems into the Tax and Customs Administration contributes to improving financial transaction tracking mechanisms, enhances revenue collection efficiency, and reduces tax evasion, in addition to closing informal outlets that drain the state’s resources and weaken its ability to invest and provide services.”

Al-Atwani also emphasized that rebuilding confidence in the banking system and expanding the scope of digital transactions, both domestically and internationally, requires developing the banking sector’s infrastructure and enhancing its cybersecurity. Furthermore, the reform process requires establishing genuine partnerships with international banks and institutions and regulating foreign remittances to ensure compliance with international standards.

The head of the Finance Committee called for “the necessity of formulating a clear understanding with the World Bank and the US Treasury, establishing the principle that the Central Bank of Iraq is the body authorized to evaluate banks’ performance, ensure their compliance, and punish violators, to avoid any sudden decisions that would negatively impact the banking sector.”

Al-Atwani concluded his remarks by emphasizing the need for a comprehensive “reform revolution” beginning with the banking sector, emphasizing that “this requires genuine political will, institutional cooperation, and a strategic vision that goes beyond temporary solutions.” He also called for collective responsibility for reforming the banking sector, “considering it a national priority that touches on national security and financial stability, directly impacts citizens’ livelihoods, achieves social justice, and ensures the future of future generations.”

The United States announced sanctions on a group of Iraqi banks, including Rafidain Bank, for allegedly smuggling US dollars to sanctioned countries, most notably Iran. The US called on the Iraqi government to implement reforms at these banks as soon as possible.

IRAN-BACKED MILITIAS IN IRAQ ARE READY TO DISARM FOLLOWING TRUMP’S THREATS

By Ronny Reyes

Apr 07, 2025

Several of the Iran-backed militia groups operating in Iraq are set to demilitarize for the first time to avoid conflict with the US following President Trump’s threats to Tehran’s proxies, senior Baghdad officials said.

The commander, along with leaders of the al-Nujaba, Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada and Ansar Allah al-Awfiya groups, have been meeting with each other and officials in Baghdad to discuss the demilitarization efforts.

Izzat al-Shahbandar, a senior Shiite Muslim politician close to Iraq’s governing alliance, confirmed the meetings between the militia chiefs and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, describing the talks as “very advanced.”

“The factions are not acting stubbornly or insisting on continuing in their current form,” he noted, adding that the militants were “fully aware” they could be targeted by US airstrikes like their fellow Iran-backed militants in Yemen.

The militia leaders said Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has given them their blessing to make whatever decision needs to be made to avoid conflict with the US. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has been in talks with militia leaders and is seeking for all militants in the nation to stand down.

Along with overseeing the militias’ demilitarization, Sudani is allegedly calling on all the estimated 50,000 militants across the Islamic Resistance in Iraq to put down their weapons and surrender their arsenals, which include long-range missiles and anti-aircraft weapons, according to two security officials who monitor militias’ activities.

The US State Department touted Iraq’s proactive approach as it reins in the militias, calling on Baghdad to absorb the forces and keep Tehran’s influence out.

These forces “must respond to Iraq’s commander-in-chief and not to Iran,” the department said in a statement.

The move comes after the Houthi rebels in Yemen were hit by a series of airstrikes by the US. Getty Images.

The IRGC declined to comment on the progress in Iraq.

The demilitarization efforts come as the US seeks to further isolate Iran and its so-called “Axis of Resistance,” which has seen major blows following Israel’s destruction of Hamas and Hezbollah’s leadership in Gaza and Lebanon.

The Houthis in Yemen have also suffered recent blows under widespread US airstrikes last month, with Tehran also losing its foothold in Syria following the fall of President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

Ibrahim al-Sumaidaie, a former political adviser to Sudani, told Iraqi state TV that the US has ramped up its warning since Trump’s return to the White House, telling Baghdad to take the threats seriously.

“If we do not voluntarily comply, it may be forced upon us from the outside, and by force,” he said.
