With all the negative news from Tuesday’s Newsletter you will be glad to note that there is some WOW! WOW! WOW! news for today. Yes, all the news today is VERY GOOD. The glass is half full not empty, in fact it may be overflowing. Remember that with Iraq things can change on a dime in a second. So, let’s get into this news. I assure you “Our Day Will Come and We’ll Have Everything! Our Day Will Come if We Just Wait Awhile!” Hang in and don’t sell your dinar. You will regret it for the rest of your life if you do.
😊 😊 Please take some time to read the articles titled “AMERICA STOPS THE DOLLAR CASH TO IRAQ: WILL THE DOLLAR RISE AGAINST THE DINAR?” and ” TARGETING IRAN, US TIGHTENS IRAQ’S DOLLAR FLOW, CAUSING PAIN“. These are my favorite articles in the news this period. It may at first seem imposing, but it will lead us to what we have been looking for all along. The news does not tell us, but this move by the US is supported by the CBI and is in the plan as the next move that had to be made. It is a strategic move in the overall plan for the next stage, this part they do tell us. It is going to set up the dinar for the future value. But first there will be some adjustments and bumps in the economy. I was reminded yesterday on my call to my contact int the CBI to remember that the reinstatement plan always calls for monitoring for inflation at each stage of the process. I was told they are moving in to, yet another stage and they are going to take some time to watch for inflation and see how the market reacts to this move. How long we don’t know but what we do know it can’t be that long of a period as Iraq will need currency for trade. I was told the dollars are not going away but CASH dollars in physical form are no longer be allowed in Iraq. Once this move settles down and “if and only if” the money laundering ends (Rafidian Bank), we have a VER Y good chance of moving to the next stage which will be the Project to Delete the Zeros.
So, what is happening with the CASH dollar?
I quote from the article “In a surprising move, reports indicate that the United States has decided to stop sending cash dollars to Iraq, a decision that could have profound effects on the Iraqi economy and its financial market. This shift raises many questions about its impact on the value of the Iraqi dinar, currency markets, and the local banking sector.”
What does this mean?
This is telling us that the US is no longer going to fly over plane loads of CASH of US dollars to Iraq. Remember I told you that CASH is always a source for corruption as it is harder to trace than electronic payments. So, under the Trump administration with only a month in his administration, decided to cut off the CASH flow of dollars. This is something that should have been done in conjunction with the correspondent banks move on December 31, 2024 for conducting the payments for Iraqi imports. I think the CBI at that time was being over cautious and wanted to take the time to monitor for inflation. Yes, their plan calls for monitoring and adjusting, if needed, for inflation at each stage of the strategy.
What will this lead to?
This move will most definitely bring a short-term rise in the dollar in Iraq over the dinar. It is hoped that it will finally break the parallel market once and for all and the dinar will rise over the dollar. Do you remember I kept asking where in hell is the black market getting all these dollars when Iraq had already de-dollarized? So, now we witnessed the articles on the corruption still from the Rafidian bank in selling dollars and they seem to end up in the hands of Iran. Well, now there will be only “electronic dollars” and the volatility and risks are mitigated as these dollars can now be fully traced to their destination. No more pan-handling the CASH of the US dollar.
Our investment in the dinar:
This move, although it looks like it will hurt the Iraqi economy initially, will actually help the country once they can get over the hump of no more CASH dollars. They always told us they needed to implement electronic transfers and were doing so. US dollars will still flow to Iraq from the US, not in cash format anymore. Remember this money is from the sale of oil in petro-dollars and belongs to Iraq in the DFI fund in NYC.
The Trump administration hopes this move will shut down all cash flows of dollars to Iran. This is the main reason for this move. But also there is another reason. This is part of the heavy sanctions it is imposing on that country. As far as our investment goes this is only good news for us as we have been waiting for these plane loads of CASH to stop. These Trump sanctions on Iran are only forcing the issue sooner than later. Get it? The CBI is over cautious and slow to act. Think about what they were doing. On one hand the US kept harping about Iraq funding Iran to circumvent the US sanctions yet for two decades they were flying plane loads of $100 bills to Iraq. Did this make any sense?
Should these shipments of dollars have stopped way before now? You mean to tell me that the US govt didn’t know this money was being stolen? Did many of these US politicians have their hands in all of this to fill their own pockets for themselves or for the good of Iraq?
I highly encourage everyone today to go listen to the Julie Green’s daily prophetic word. The prophecy is called “Everything the Swamp was hiding is coming out in the open ”. It is in my political section of the Newsletter today. Folks these cash dollars were massive corruption from the US politicians. This is all going be exposed. I only hope everyone remembers the prophecy and this will regain you trust in God and what he is doing for your nation. I don’t anyone EVER to ask me again what is the holdup of the RV. If you don’t know what is holding up the IQD revaluation by listening to her prophecy and by my dialogue today, you are just listening to the wrong people who are messing with your mind. You have to want to learn and understand. I can’t force it upon you.
I only hope all my blog readers can see the massive corruption by the prior US administrations (Bush, Obama and Biden) in the handling of Iraqi oil revenues. It was literally a free-for-all disguised as helping Iraq. But was it really? Look what it has done to the dinar. Oh.. these politicians are good at lying and deceiving the public. You want to know why we still sit here waiting for the RV? Well… I keep telling you why. Are you listening?
The Trump administration seems to be moving quickly on many of these long-standing issues facing the corruption in the U.S. too. Remember I told you that it was only a couple weeks ago that he requested the file on Iraq. So, I am not surprised that they moved so quickly on this issue with Iraq. I know many of you are thinking my negative news from Tuesday is going to take years and years to accomplish. Can you see now this is not going to take years. Yes, the currency reform process is on the move again.
This recent move is a sign that Iraq is now moving into yet a new stage in the process of currency reform. January 2023 was a big shift to the new currency platform, then I like it, how about you? It had to be done and we were waiting for it. I told everyone months ago that this literal paper CASH flow had to stop. My contact in the CBI told us, remember? It was too risky and left Iraq vulnerable to corruption. Let’s hope this ends the parallel market altogether in Iraq. It almost has to.

Almost a dozen huge cargo ships are now docked at the port of Faw and unloading. The country of Great Britian as well as the United States finally decided to come onboard and sink some their investment money in Iraq for a number of various projects. We also hear very good news in the article titled “LAUNCHING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE {FURSAN} RESIDENTIAL CITY.. AND AL-SUDANI: IRAQ IS FACING A NEW INDUSTRIAL RENAISSANCE“. Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani launched, today, Wednesday, the executive works for the development project of the Al-Fursan residential city in the Al-Nahrawan area in Baghdad.
ENERGY SECTOR:
😊In the article titled “MP CALLS FOR ENACTING OIL AND GAS LAW TO SOLVE SALARY CRISIS” a member of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Wealth Committee Nazim Al-Shabli called on the federal government today, Tuesday, to expedite sending the draft oil and gas law. So, this is another issue that we have been waiting for to get resolved. The lack of a solid law in this area of energy has caused Iraq great pain over the decades. I surely hope they can get this constitutional requirement completed sooner than later.
😊It an article titled “MINISTER OF ELECTRICITY DISCUSSES WITH US CHARGÉ D’AFFAIRES THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ENERGY SYSTEM IN IRAQ“. On Wednesday, the Minister of Electricity, Ziad Ali Fadhil, discussed with the Chargé d’Affairs of the US Embassy the development of the electricity system in Iraq. You know what this was all about…don’t you? It is a knee-jerk reaction from Iraq, a reaction to the Trump administration cancelling the extension of electricity purchase from Iran. Seems Iraq always needs a kick in the pants to get them moving. The question is will they finally get the grid completed.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the investment opportunities available in the Iraqi energy sector, the participation of American companies in electricity infrastructure development projects, and the transfer of modern technologies in the field of production, transmission and distribution of electrical energy.”
Then we find out some more TRUTHS about the electric grid issue in article titled “RUSSIA: WE WERE ABOUT TO COMPLETE IMPORTANT ENERGY PROJECTS IN IRAQ, BUT THE EVENTS OF 2004 LED TO THEIR SUSPENSION“. Oh… this is a good one too. In this news we find out from Elbrus Kotrashev, the Russian Federation’s ambassador to Iraq that Russian companies were about to complete important electricity projects in Iraq that began before 2003, especially in the energy sector, but the painful security events that occurred in 2004 led to the suspension of these projects and the evacuation of more than 900 Russian experts. He continued: “After that, there was a long interruption in cooperation due to the turbulent security situation, but we want to continue the work and complete it successfully, especially since we are witnessing the suffering of the Iraqi people due to the scarcity of electricity.
Despite these challenges, the Russian ambassador stressed that relations between Baghdad and Moscow, which date back 80 years, are still strong and distinctive at all levels. This could all be good news but didn’t Germany’s Seimans and U.S. General Electric also take on contracts to help resolve the electric grid situation? Isn’t that what we read? What happened to their efforts? We read Iraq allocated billions just years ago to complete it? Did they also pull out due to terrorists attacks? Just asking…..

Answer Mnt Goat: Guten Tag Jack.I hope you are having a nice winter and staying warm. Okay, so let’s answer your question. Have you been reading my Newsletters? If you were, you should know the US is not “selling” dollars to Iraq. The dollars are in a DFI fund. When oil is sold from Iraq the buyer MUST pay in US dollars. They call these “petro- dollars”. These payments go directly into the DFI fund which was set up to protect Iraq from creditors left over from the Saddam Hessian regime. They did this to protect Iraq. When Iraq needs money to pay for imports, they submit their budget to the Federal Reserve, and they would send plane loads of paper cash $100 bills to Iraq to meet their budget. Remember this is Iraq’s money. The problem is that this system opened Iraq wide open for corruption and the US Federal Reserve that set up this system knew it and used it to scam the oil revenues from Iraq. Folks they are not that dumb that they couldn’t project this would happen. This became their little slush fund. A little for their pockets, a lot for Iran and nobody would know the difference, they thought. They figured everyone would just think it was all Iranian corruption and smuggling and no one would catch on to their scheme. But the Trump administration is catching on and this all going to come out in the news soon. Watch for it! So, how do you now stop the corruption is the real question. How do you stop 20 years of corruption? Some people at the highest levels are getting paid off in the US to let all this money go to Iran. This is the real problem. I have been telling everyone this for a long time. The U.S. is the real problem. The relationship of the U.S. with Iraq in this matter had to change and so it is now finally changing. REPUBLICANS ANNOUNCE NEW FEDERAL SECRETS DECLASSIFICATION TASK FORCE
This is not a DOGE task force perse, as it is being run by Congress and not DOGE. It is still in line with the corruption exposure efforts. Looks like they are not going to be able to hide the TRUTH anymore with this classification scheme of excuses to release information and be fully transparent. They have been using on Americans since 1951. Remember that information is knowledge, power and a means of control.
The United States government classification system is established under Executive Order 13526, the latest in a long series of executive orders on the topic of classified information beginning in 1951. Issued by President Barack Obama in 2009, Executive Order 13526 replaced earlier executive orders on the topic and modified the regulations codified to 32 C.F.R. 2001.
It lays out the system of classification, declassification, and handling of national security information generated by the U.S. government and its employees and contractors, as well as information received from other governments.
The desired degree of secrecy about such information is known as its sensitivity. Sensitivity is based upon a calculation of the damage to national security that the release of the information would cause. The United States has three levels of classification: Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret.
Why is this necessary?
So, to make a long story shorter, if the government does not want the public to gain access to anything they feel may be a threat to their own conspiracy or maybe corrupt practices, they simply classify it and it gets buried. It never gets exposed. Folks, this has been the problem all along since the 1950’s when this classification scheme began. This is how they hide information and the TRUTH from the public. For example, the task force will open the files and learn what has been hidden in them about the JFK, RFK, Martin Luther King Assassinations, unidentified areal phenomenon (UAF or UFOs), unidentified submerged objects (USOs), Epstein Client list, 911 NYC Attack and the origins of Covid 19 virus.
It is clear that these Executive Orders told to us to establish this classification system in the past were nothing more than a way to run the government in secrecy and lack of transparency to the general American public. Maybe at first this was not the intent but it surely evolved into it to bring us where we are today in the year 2025. This is what happens when a good idea gets corrupted in the wrong hands and its real intent is skewed. I can hardly wait to see the findings and what is exposed as a result of this task force.

Can you see that if they had the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) in place already the IRS would not need permission. These CBDC tokens would essentially belong to the banking cartel. THE U.S. DEPT OF EDUCATION NO LONGER EXISTS.
But why was this done? Let’s take an indepth look at this today.
The United States Department of Education is a cabinet-level department of the United States government. It began operating on May 4, 1980, having been created after the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare was split into the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services. Since this time period the level of education competence has declined in America, today it is at its lowest ranking lower than most countries. Out of 40 developed countries the U.S. is now ranked dead last. The department has grown from its original 1,400 employes to over 4,400 employees. It went from a budget of just a couple billion to over $79 billion today. The question today is this – Is this department really necessary in the midst of the government spending comparison to the benefit derived? Is it really necessary?
The answer to the question is overwhelmingly YES it can easily be closed! The US is not any better off than before 1980 after over 40 years since the creation of this new standalone agency, and in fact the educational level in the U.S. is now worst off than it was in 1979 when president Carter signed into law the Act creating it. In this agency today, as we all experienced the magnitude of the incompetence during the last four year of the Biden administration. Today it has become a corrupted propaganda agency to brainwash our children and has exceeded its real intent.
“Let the states run the schools”. No more “woke” ideology mandated training being pushed down from the federal govt by this agency. This was wrong and many of our families felt the impact of the brainwashing of our kids. They will suffer the consequences for generations to come. This means no more “no child left behind” crazy mandates, no more woke school text books or federal testing mandates.
Sometimes in situations like this we must remember history. Yes, history is meant to teach us lessons. So, what happened in WW2 with Hitler and the Nazi party? They went after the kids to brainwash them to hate the Jews and to be good patriotic soldiers. Basically to OBEY unquestionably!
Our kids are the key to the next generation. What will the future be like? Having two wonderful children of my own this one really gets my goat. This is why I had to speak up and write such an elaborate commentary on this topic today. Many will say this is drastic thinking and surely could never happen again, especially in America. Really? Who would ever have thought that any president would open up the U.S. borders wide open for all these third-world immigrants and criminals to come pouring in? Who would ever think the Federal government would mandate “woke” school programs for our children? But this and more has happened. It is all a disaster and factual. This horror of the last four years did occur! Why even have this agency then if it is only going to be used negatively to manipulate our kids? Why leave the risk available to future ideologies to be set in motion in our schools using this agency?
So, what is this move really all about?
Is it just about saving money, as some accuse?
A lot of Federal funding will still be available to the states in the future, but instead of a huge bureaucracy deciding on how it will be spent, the parents and local schools will decide. The government will save cost as the overhead is gone. That is all Trump is doing. No more federal mandates, as “We The People” have lost our trust in the Dept of Education and it is time for it to go. Trump is only doing what he was mandated to go by winning the election with such a high margin of victory. In the meantime, the Federal government has an opportunity to save billions in overhead and wasted costs that never trickle down or even affect the degree of the child’s education, except on negative impacts not positive. This is a brilliant move and is way overdue. Thanks Trump!
Of course, this move by the Trump Administration, will be sued in the courts by the Democrats and the Supreme Court will probably have the last say. But I believe it will be all in favor of this Trump move. Can any president just close down a cabinet level agency when it was created by an Act, which a prior president signed into law? That is the real question that is going to drive this effort to stop it. The answer to it, as far as I know is Yes, Trump, as the new president, can abolish any cabinet level position, with justification. I believe he will have plenty of justification. The cabinet agencies are there to serve the Executive Branch to run the government. Any president can change them and should be able to change them. Just as the Dept of Education was created by one president it can be abolished by another.

AMERICA STOPS THE DOLLAR CASH TO IRAQ: WILL THE DOLLAR RISE AGAINST THE DINAR?
In a surprising move, reports indicate that the United States has decided to stop sending cash dollars to Iraq, a decision that could have profound effects on the Iraqi economy and its financial market. This shift raises many questions about its impact on the value of the Iraqi dinar, currency markets, and the local banking sector.
(All I can say is its about time! But this is a major change and there will be adjustments that will have to be made.)

TARGETING IRAN, US TIGHTENS IRAQ’S DOLLAR FLOW, CAUSING PAIN

BAGHDAD (AP) — For months, the United States has restricted Iraq’s access to its own dollars, trying to stamp out what Iraqi officials describe as rampant money laundering that benefits Iran and Syria. Iraq is now feeling the crunch, with a drop in the value of its currency and public anger blowing back against the prime minister.
The exchange rate for the Iraqi dinar has jumped to around 1,750 to the dollar at street exchanges in some parts of the country, compared to the official rate of 1,460 dinars to the dollar.
In Baghdad, exchange houses were closed on Thursday, while the Kurdistan Regional Government banned exchange companies in Sulaimaniyah from making transfers.
Mustafa Al-Karawi, a member of the parliamentary budget committee, told the state news agency that the Central Bank “must meet the requirements of the Federal Reserve to…reduce the scarcity of hard currency in the country.” He said new domestic procedures would be rolled out to improve access to currency, while a delegation of Iraqi officials will travel to the U.S. for negotiations next Friday.
The devaluation has already sparked protests. If it persists, analysts said, it could challenge the mandate of the government formed in October after a yearlong political stalemate.
The dinar’s deterioration comes even though Iraq’s foreign currency reserves are at an all-time high of around $100 billion, pumped up by spiking global oil prices that have brought increasing revenues to the petroleum-rich nation.
But accessing that money is a different story.
Since the U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003, Iraq’s foreign currency reserves have been housed at the United States’ Federal Reserve, giving the Americans significant control over Iraq’s supply of dollars. The Central Bank of Iraq requests dollars from the Fed and then sells them to commercial banks and exchange houses at the official exchange rate through a mechanism known as the “dollar auction.”
In the past, daily sales through the auction often exceeded $200 million per day.
Ostensibly, the vast majority of the dollars sold in the auction are meant to go to purchases of goods imported by Iraqi companies, but the system has long been porous and easily abused, multiple Iraqi banking and political officials told The Associated Press.
U.S. officials confirmed to the AP that they suspected the system was used for money laundering but declined to comment in detail on the allegations or the new restrictions.
For years, large quantities of dollars were transferred out of the country to Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, and Lebanon through “gray market trading, using fake invoices for overpriced items,” a financial adviser to the Iraqi prime minister said, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.
The inflated invoices were used to launder dollars, with most of them sent to Iran and Syria, which are under U.S. sanctions, leading to complaints from American officials, he said.
In other cases, the currency is smuggled across land borders under the protection of armed groups that take a cut of the cash, said Tamkeen Abd Sarhan al-Hasnawi, chairman of the board of Mosul Bank and first deputy of the Iraq Private Banks League. He estimated that as much as 80% of the dollars sold through the auction went to neighboring countries.
“Syria, Turkey, and Iran used to benefit from the dollar auction in Iraq,” he said.
A member of one of Iraq’s Iran-backed militias, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly on the subject, said the majority of Iraqi banks are owned indirectly by politicians and political parties that have also used the dollar auction to their benefit.
Late last year, the Fed began imposing stricter measures.
Among other steps, at the request of the U.S., the Central Bank of Iraq started using an electronic system for transfers that required entering detailed information on the intended end-recipient of the requested dollars. One hundred Central Bank employees were trained by the Fed to implement the new system, the prime minister’s financial adviser said.
“This system started rejecting transfers and invoices that used to be approved by the central bank,” he said. “Around 80% of transactions were being rejected.”
The amount of dollars sold daily in the auction plummeted to $69.6 million on Jan. 31, from $257.8 million six months earlier, according to Central Bank records. Far fewer of the dollars are going toward buying imports as well, down to around 34% from 90%.
Even when transactions are approved, it takes banks up to 15 days to get the funds rather than two or three days, Hasnawi said.
Unable to get dollars at the official price through banks, he said, traders turned to the black market to buy dollars, causing the price to rise.
In November, the Central Bank of Iraq added four new banks to the list of those banned from dealing in dollars. Two U.S. officials confirmed that the Fed requested the four banks be blocked because of suspected money laundering. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment on the case.
A spokesperson for the New York Fed declined to discuss the specific measures taken with regards to Iraq. But the Fed said in a statement that it enforces “a robust compliance regime” for the accounts it holds. The statement said that this regime “evolves over time in response to new information, which we gather in the regular course of monitoring transactions and events that may impact an account and in communication with other relevant U.S. government agencies.”
The system of keeping Iraq’s oil revenues at the Fed was originally imposed by U.N. Security Council resolutions after the 2003 ouster of Iraq’s Saddam Hussein by the U.S-led invasion. Later, Iraq chose to maintain the system to protect its revenues against potential lawsuits, particularly in connection to Iraq’s 1990s invasion of Kuwait.
(We will need Exec Order 13303 to end for this DFI fund to be transferred to Iraq and out of the hands of the U.S. Feds. This is key and we all need to watch for this move. Will Trump extend it in May 2025? )
The new U.S. restrictions come at a time of increased tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Negotiations over a nuclear deal are floundering. Washington has imposed new sanctions and condemned Iran for cracking down on protesters and providing drones for Russia to use in Ukraine.
Also, in Iraq, allegations came to light in October that over $2.5 billion in Iraqi government revenue was embezzled by a network of businesses and officials from the country’s tax authority.
The case “brought (U.S.) attention to the scale of corruption in Iraq” and how the corruption can benefit Iran and other parties hostile to the U.S., said Harith Hasan, head of the Iraq unit at the Emirates Research Center, an Abu Dhabi-based think tank.
The new Iraqi prime minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, who came to power via a coalition of Iranian-backed parties, does not have a strong relationship with the U.S. that could have enabled him to soften the implementation of the new financial measures, Hasan said.
Al-Sudani has downplayed the current devaluation as “a temporary issue of trading and speculation.” He replaced the Central Bank governor and instituted measures intended to ensure a supply of dollars at the official rate.
Al-Hasnawi said the government’s recent measures will not stop the financial bleeding. If the current situation persists, he said, “within one year, most banks will declare bankruptcy” and there is likely to be mass civil unrest.
“This U.S. pressure impacts the Iraqi street in a clear manner, and we do not see clear solutions until now,” he said.

Saleh told Al Furat News Agency that “the interests of the two friendly countries are moving in positive directions, especially in the field of economic, investment and trade cooperation.”
He explained that “what is being raised by some parties regarding this relationship falls within the framework of political fears, concerns and baseless speculations, and is connected to the changes in the new administration in the United States and its connections with vast political geographies,” stressing that Iraq is not a party to it.

MP CALLS FOR ENACTING OIL AND GAS LAW TO SOLVE SALARY CRISIS
Member of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas and Wealth Committee Nazim Al-Shabli called on the federal government today, Tuesday, to expedite sending the draft oil and gas law.
Al-Shabli told / Al-Maalouma / agency, “The legislation of the oil and gas law is sufficient to solve the crisis of salaries of the region’s employees, indicating that the law contributes greatly to stopping oil smuggling as well as addressing the salary crisis.”
He added that “the salary crisis is ongoing until now and there is hope and a beginning to solve it after the legislation of the oil and gas law within the Council of Representatives,” noting that “the region continues to smuggle oil.”
He stressed “the need to expedite sending the oil and gas law to solve the giant problems between Baghdad and Erbil.”
(All I can say to this article is “I Told You So”. I have explained this many times. The lack of this law slows down and stalls many efforts. The Oil and Gas Law or lack thereof, is at the root of much of the turmoil within Iraq Kurds vs Baghdad.)

BRITISH AMBASSADOR TO NINA: BAGHDAD AND LONDON WILL IMPLEMENT MAJOR PROJECTS AND OUR COMPANIES ARE READY TO INVEST IN IRAQ
The British Ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hitchcock, confirmed that British companies are very willing to invest in the Iraqi market.
Hitchcock said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency ( NINA ) that “diversifying the Iraqi economy and sources of national income has become necessary to face the challenges of the decline in global oil and gas prices, and to enhance the revenue cycle that Iraq relies on within the year 2040.”
“During Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani’s recent visit to London, agreements were signed for major projects worth £12 billion, which do not include BP investments,” he added. “This is a major advance in the readiness and willingness of British companies to work in Iraq, and the Gulf states are also well prepared to invest in Iraq,” he said, noting that “one of the agreements signed by the governments of Iraq and Britain relates to a British energy technology company linking the Iraqi national grid with the Saudi electricity grid.”
He explained that “BP, a private company not affiliated with the government, has decided to invest again and expand its operations in Iraq, and this is evidence that British companies in general are more willing to invest in the Iraqi market, which reflects investors’ confidence in the country’s future.”

LAUNCHING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE {FURSAN} RESIDENTIAL CITY.. AND AL-SUDANI: IRAQ IS FACING A NEW INDUSTRIAL RENAISSANCE
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani launched, today, Wednesday, the executive works for the development project of the Al-Fursan residential city in the Al-Nahrawan area in Baghdad, on an area of approximately (24,197) dunums, which includes the allocation of serviced residential lands distributed to members of the Ministry of Defense.
Al-Sudani handed over land ownership deeds to a number of families of martyrs from the armed forces.
Al-Sudani appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Defense and other ministries supporting the launch of this project, stressing the work to provide serviced residential plots in the rest of the governorates, and directing the generalization of this experience to members of the rest of the other security agencies, indicating that the Knights City project will be implemented by the real estate developer and planned and implemented by the Ministry of Defense, with the support of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, with the developer company obligated to implement with full specifications, and construct part of the basic services such as schools, health centers and service departments.
He explained that the project is one of the government’s paths to address the housing crisis, and a model in the governorates to include all members, officers and leaders of the Ministry of Defense, stressing that the government left the issue of distributing residential lands without infrastructure services, or designs that are appropriate for modern cities and various requirements.
Al-Sudani referred to the residential cities that will be implemented for the members of the armed forces, including the Al-Ghazlani City project in Mosul, and another city in Basra, in addition to laying the foundation stone for the 6th of November City in Taji, to cover the needs of housing units for citizens and members of the security services.
The following are the most important points made by the Prime Minister:
– The Ministry of Defense personnel defended the greater homeland, and we must provide them with a small homeland represented by a residential plot of land and decent services. We have a new city, “City of Roses,” at the level of a new governorate. It was referred to the investor, and we completed the contracts and its design, and implementation began.
– More than 110,000 housing units will be completed in “City of Roses”, which is 3 km away from the “City of Knights” residential project.
There is a 17 km road under construction, linking central Baghdad to the new residential cities and reaching the city of roses.
– Within the Baghdad Metro plan, new residential cities have been linked, and we are in the process of negotiating with international companies to implement this vital project.
The government has taken into consideration the advance planning for the next 30 years regarding the provision of services, means of transportation and a road network.
I renew the call to the private sector and businessmen to proceed with the implementation of housing projects and real estate development in Baghdad and the governorates, and the government will provide all facilities.
We call on the private sector to establish construction materials factories in light of the great urban renaissance in the country, as what is available does not cover the actual need. The number of housing units in projects signed by the government has exceeded one million units.
The sovereign guarantees provided to the private sector confirm that Iraq is facing a new industrial renaissance for the emergence of national factories that cover the needs of the market. The government is obligated to provide basic services such as sewage networks, drinking water, electricity, communications, and roads.
(After 20 years the grid is still not fully functional. How is the government providing for electricity then? All talk…. How many times do we have to hear this before they actually do it?)

Finance Minister Taif Sami stressed, on Tuesday (February 11, 2025), the importance of regional and international cooperation to confront the growing economic challenges.
The Ministry of Finance stated in a statement received by “Baghdad Today” that “the activities of the Ninth Public Finance Forum in Arab Countries, organized by the UAE Ministry of Finance in cooperation with the Arab Monetary Fund and the International Monetary Fund, kicked off on Monday in Jumeirah City in Dubai, as part of the preliminary day for the World Government Summit 2025, with the participation of Arab finance ministers, economic experts and officials from international and regional financial institutions.”
According to the statement, Sami stressed “the importance of adopting flexible financial policies to confront the growing economic challenges,” noting that “achieving a balance between the requirements of development, financial sustainability, and climate action has become an urgent necessity in light of the uncertainty witnessed by the global economy.”
She touched on the “importance of structural reforms in enhancing financial stability and achieving sustainability of public spending,” stressing the “need to develop financial policy tools to improve spending efficiency and enhance financial transparency.”
She stressed “the importance of regional and international cooperation to support the efforts of Arab countries to confront economic challenges and achieve sustainable development.”
The forum, which is held under the title (Public Finance Resilience in an Uncertain World), will explore ways to achieve this balance through four sessions that discuss the most prominent economic challenges, including the effects of the macroeconomy on public finances, debt pressures, financial policies to adapt to climate change, and developing tax systems to keep pace with economic transformations.
Participants in the forum will discuss mechanisms for financing sustainable development, the role of regional and international financial institutions in supporting Arab countries to achieve their economic goals, in addition to discussing the opportunities and challenges associated with adopting modern financial technologies to enhance digital transformation in the financial sector.
The forum concludes with a ministerial roundtable that brings together Arab finance ministers and officials from the International Monetary Fund and the Arab Monetary Fund, to discuss mechanisms for regional financial cooperation and priorities for the next phase in economic and financial policies.

RUSSIA: WE WERE ABOUT TO COMPLETE IMPORTANT ENERGY PROJECTS IN IRAQ, BUT THE EVENTS OF 2004 LED TO THEIR SUSPENSION
Elbrus Kotrashev, the Russian Federation’s ambassador to Iraq, confirmed that the decision to evacuate hundreds of Russian experts from Iraq in 2004 came after Russian teams working in the country were directly exposed to terrorist attacks.
During his interview on the “Qasary Al-Qawl” program with Salam Musafir on RT Arabic, on the occasion of “Diplomats’ Day,” he explained that “these attacks resulted in the martyrdom and injury of a number of experts, including Iraqis, which prompted the Russian authorities to take the decision to evacuate to protect the lives of its citizens.”
“Russian companies were about to complete important projects in Iraq that began before 2003, especially in the energy sector, but the painful security events that occurred in 2004 led to the suspension of these projects and the evacuation of more than 900 Russian experts,” Kotrashev added.
He continued: “After that, there was a long interruption in cooperation due to the turbulent security situation, but we want to continue the work and complete it successfully, especially since we are witnessing the suffering of the Iraqi people due to the scarcity of electricity.”
Despite these challenges, the Russian ambassador stressed that relations between Baghdad and Moscow, which date back 80 years, are still strong and distinctive at all levels, describing them as going through their most beautiful stages in terms of the level and strength of cooperation. He pointed out that cooperation between the two countries covers multiple fields, including energy, education and culture.
Regarding cultural exchange, Kotrashev expressed Moscow’s desire to open a Russian cultural center in Iraq, as it was during the Soviet era, explaining that the delay in this step is due to logistical reasons, not political or economic. He also spoke about educational cooperation between the two countries, noting that the number of Iraqi students in Russian universities ranges between 2,500 and 4,000 students.
Regarding cooperation in the energy sector, the ambassador pointed out that Russian investments in the Iraqi oil and gas sector amount to about $20 billion, and may be more. He stressed that Russia leads oil investments in Iraq, surpassing the United States and China, expressing his optimism about the possibility of expanding these investments in the future.
Regarding the possibility of a visit by a senior Russian official or President Putin to Iraq, Kotrashev said: “I hope the visit will be great, and I expect a warm welcome from the Iraqi government and people, but I do not know if it will happen soon because the president is busy with domestic and international issues.”

ANTI-MONEY LAUNDERING OFFICE: IRAQI AUTHORITIES FACE DIFFICULTY TRACKING DIGITAL TRANSACTIONS
The Deputy Director General of the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Office in Iraq, Hussein Al-Maqram, announced that the Iraqi authorities are facing difficulty in tracking digital transactions.
Al-Maqram said that the office is still working on updating the legal and legislative framework to meet emerging challenges.
He added, “Iraq is a critical area and is vulnerable to the growth of money laundering operations due to its heavy reliance on cash transactions in commercial transactions and slow progress in electronic payment operations, not to mention that the sales of the Central Bank of Iraq remain close to $300 million per day, which is a large number compared to the volume of goods entering Iraq.”
Al-Maqram said, “In light of these challenges, the relevant authorities in the Republic of Iraq are following several strategies to combat money laundering and terrorist financing using virtual currencies, including continuous cooperation and coordination with banking and non-banking financial institutions and reporting transactions of unknown origin, as well as preparing joint committees from relevant government agencies for the purpose of tracking down those dealing and speculating in them.”
(Am I missing something here. Isn’t the foreign correspondent banks providing the dollars for payment for imports. They told us that dinars are sent to these banks in other countries, they then convert to dollars and make the payments directly. No more currency auctions in the CBI. So, why in this article are they telling us about sales of the Central Bank of Iraq remain close to $300 million per day? These dollars no longer come out of the reserves. Also, this article tells us there is still a heavy reliance on “cash transactions”. What about all this electronic transfer stuff we have been reading about? Are they just bullshitting us? Why is there still so much cash being used for foreign business? But this goes hand in hand with the three zero notes as I told you there will still be a need to have these larger notes for foreign trade even after the Project to Delete the Zeros is completed. We also have to think about all the countries that have the three zeros notes now in their country’s foreign reserves. So these older three zero notes are not going away. Ours will be valuable! )
